Happy 4th of July!!! and other things!

myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics

These past few days have flown by…. thankfully. I can’t believe that the 4th of July is almost over! Its almost Friday and I can’t wait since Friday marks 3 months down in this deployment and I am so oober excited about that! I just got the best present for the 4th of July. Rob got a cell phone! He sent me a text message on Monday on my way home from work… I was so excited. I hadn’t heard from him in a little over 2 weeks and then all of a sudden a text message from him! He called me too! He told me that he got the pictures that I sent him a couple weeks ago. He said the whole inside of his helmet was covered in pictures of me! Awwww he is so adorable! He said that he was sending me some things that he got too… so I can’t wait for those things either. He text me Tuesday morning, the usual text that I would get every morning before he deployed… "good morning babe" I almost cried! I miss those text messages so much. He is such a sweetheart. It was so nice to talk to him.

Yesterday I spent time with Amanda and her friends again. It was Amanda’s birthday… she turned 20! It was nice to hang out again. I slept over her house last night since we had the parade this morning…. which is what I really want to talk about.

This is the first year that I have ever been in a parade and I was excited about that. Since it was the 4th of July parade I wanted to go all out… in honor of my baby. I bought that shirt and got the back of it air brushed. I don’t have pics of that but I will soon. We got up early and got dressed. I put on my shirt and my little flashing red heart flag pin, my red white and blue bracelets, a red white and blue lei, a sparkle hat, and we were off. We stopped to pick up the float that we were walking with. The float was an eye opener. It was a sign and a number showing all the soldiers that had fallen in the war so far… with a wooden United States…. and a flag to honor all the Fallen. Then on the back was a bandaid with the number of wounded. I knew what the float was about but it still hit home to see it… to think of how lucky I am after that close call that Rob had that he is not part of that number. I will always remember how lucky I am. Amanda and I finally made it to the parade and we were waiting for it to start and I get a text….. from Rob. "Happy 4th of July babe" That made my day! He doesn’t know about the parade so I am going to write him a letter tonight and tell him all about it and send him the pictures. After waiting for an hour and getting our pictures taken and having people come up to me and comment about my shirt we were off.

I have never seen so many people at a parade before. I handed out around 500 flags to people. I was really humbled because so many people read my shirt and came up to me and shook my hand, asked me to thank Rob for them, said thank you to me. I police officer stopped me as I was walking and looked me straight in the eyes and said Thank you, because I know that it must be hard and tell him thank you for serving. Then he put his hand on my shoulder and squeezed. I almost cried right there. I have never experienced anything like that before.

It seemed like forever but the parade was finally over. I don’t think that I have ever been that proud before… and I know that I keep saying that, but I think this really topped it all. I can’t wait to send Rob the pictures! I can’t wait for him to read all about it!

Okay time for the pictures….

This is the float! You can see the flag in the background.

This is the bandaid in the back

This is me… all out for the 4th and in support of my hero and all the other who fight for this beautiful USA

Amanda and her patriotic birthday girl glory!

Here we are after the parade was over!

Oh…. and by the way… our float won FIRST PLACE out of all the floats!!!!!!

I’m glad you had a good 4th. People can be so supportive when they choose to be. Oh, and another book you may want to read “Help! I’m a Military Spouse, I Get a Life Too!” It’s written for wives, but I can see a lot of benefits for everyone. RYN: If you’d really like me to dance at your wedding when you finally have it, I’ll be there if I have to fly across the world to do it.

It’s something I love doing. You’ve been incredibly supportive through everything. And in general, it would be worth it if it would make you happy.

Im trying my best not to worry so much about this.I just dont want stuff that has happened in past relationships to ruin ours. Its happened before to me and really broke my heart.Guys get scared and hurt by women just as much as we do by men.It sucks!

Yeah i always get scared to bring up the past because i really dont think it should matter.you should start off on a clean slate.i mean yeah its ok to know what went wrong. It would of just felt better if he had left a quick message to let me know not to worry..but i know guys can be slow sometimes.i’ll be patient =)

Us army families do have it hard you are right. It is tough waiting and hoping and praying for all of their safe returns. But we have to stay strong for our men and women overseas. They need our support and our love. 🙂
