But You Are Never Alone

Locked away behind closed doors

sits a girl afraid to regain control

pain surrounds everything she knows

her razor blade her only friend

and every night she sits alone

and slashes her wrists and lets the pain bleed away

crying her eyes out and wanting to just let go

to press the blade a bit harder

surrender herself to the blade and just give in

but she found a group of people one night

people who understood her and made her feel alright

and to this day she has those friends

and they will never let her falter

because there are the SI Awareness Support Group

and they continue to tell her she is never alone

self-harm is a problem but it can be controlled

so just when you think you are alone in the world

remember there are people who understand

and they will never put you down

they will hold you and help you stand your ground
