big day for Nicholai

 
I don’t know how I am even containing my excitement right now. I’m beaming… Nicholai rolled over from his back to his tummy today! I was practically screaming I was so excited. Hubs had just changed his diaper so he was lying on his back and he rolled over to his side which he has been doing for a while. He saw the baby wipes box and decided that he wanted to play with it so he started reaching for it. As he was reaching he was rolling over more toward his belly so he grabbed the box and started pulling on it and was almost there but his arm was in the way like always. I kept telling him to keep going like I always do even though I didn’t think he was going to make it over but then he gives himself one big push with his legs and all the way over he goes. He looked up at me and smiled this HUGE gorgeous-melt-your-heart baby smile…. it was precious. I am such a proud mommy. If I had thought he was going to make it all the way over I would have grabbed the camera.

So after he gets frustrated with being on his belly, which doesn’t take long because he doesn’t like to be on his belly I pick him up and he starts grabbing for my hand and shoving it in his mouth and starting gumming me to death and thats when I feel them…. TEETH!

Yup… he has his 2 bottom front teeth coming in. They are already both through the gum! I can’t believe it… 2 big things in one day. I can’t believe how fast he is growing up.

The crib was rough though. He woke up about 10 times as opposed to the normal 2 and it took a lot longer to get him to fall back asleep then it does when he is in the pack n play bassinet. So tonight we are trying to swaddle him since that is how he sleeps for his naps. I hope that helps his sleep because he was still so tired this morning when he got up that he took about an hour nap in the morning and an hour and a half nap tonight before bed. It was rough for all of us and it almost makes me think that maybe we are attempting this too soon, but I know that he needs to be able to sleep in his own room so we are going to just tough this out like we did when we stopped the middle of the night feedings after he turned 2 months.

I can’t believe how fast time has flown by. He is going to be sitting up, crawling, walking and talking before I know it.

I have pictures of his teeth that I will try to get up here soon. Fingers crossed that he sleeps better through the night this time.
