4th OB appt and other things
So… time for an update.
I had my 4th OB appt today. Chris couldn’t come because of work again. Hes missed the last 3 appts because he has had to stay at work. He gets upset about that but I have the last couple ultrasounds on tape so when we got to my parents in a couple weeks he can watch the tape. Its on VHS and we only have a DVD player lol. I have 9 appointments left until the little nudger is born. I can’t believe how quickly time is going.
Well I went in and peed in a cup like every other time. They weighed me. I am now 158.4 I think, so I’ve gained about 4 pounds since my last appointment and about 15-18 pounds total so far. I think I have gained a little more then what I should have by now, but they said my weight is fine so I’m trying not to worry about that. My blood pressure was 100 over 68 and they didn’t say anything about that either. Normal BP is 120 over 80 so mine was low but I guess that is ok. Then they put me in a room and a nurse practitioner came in and measured my bump with a tape and said that the baby was growing perfectly. She listened to the heartbeat with the doppler. I still can’t get over that sound, it blows my mind every time I hear it. She said the heartbeat was right where it should be. And that was it. My next appointment is May 7th. That will be the end of my once a month appointments. Starting in June I have an appointment every other week and then in August I have one every week til the little nudger is born.
And speaking of the little nudger… Chris was able to feel the baby kick the other day!!!! He was having daddy-baby time, (Daddy-baby time: Every night right before we go to sleep he lays in bed with me, puts his head on my tummy and tells the baby all about his day from start to finish and then he rubs stretch mark cream on my belly) and the baby was kicking really hard so I moved his hand over where the baby was kicking me and lay very still. He sat there with his hand pushing down a little and waited. Then the baby kicked and he looked at me and asked if that was my muscles twitching. I said no. You should have seen the look on his face. I wish I had a camera. He was so excited! All smiles. He kept his hand there and the baby kicked hard 2 more times that he felt. He was so adorable sitting there with this grin on his face. It was priceless. The baby hasn’t been kicking as hard recently since I’ve gotten a cold and started taking medicine. I’m taking Tylenol severe cold which my dr said was fine to take. I’m hoping this cold won’t last long because I don’t like that the medicine makes the baby more lethargic. It bothers me…. so I really want to stop taking the medicine, but Chris says its important that I feel better so I’m still taking it.
Chris got hurt. He was doing some training thing at work and got hit in the hand. He spent half the day at the clinic. His xrays came back clear but he has a wrist splint that he has to wear for 2 weeks, a 2 week profile and a script for Tramadol. The pain goes from his wrist to his shoulder and it really bothers him. So where is he now…… band practice of course, playing his guitar…. without his brace! *sigh* men! He has a show on Saturday, opening for Marcy’s Playground so he isn’t going to cancel it I know…. I hope that he just doesn’t cause himself too much pain. I worry about him.
Other then that, everything is going fine. This week is almost over. I just have to get through next week and then Chris and I will be getting ready to go to Jersey for the first baby shower!!!!! and the Disturbed concert. I can’t wait. And then after that we have 2 weeks til we move, then I have 2 weeks left of work and then I can start taking yoga class, decorating the baby’s nursery and getting everything ready! Time is flying by but not fast enough because I can’t wait to meet the little one I’m carrying!!!!
… don’t be afraid, sometimes they come true! … music is my life
*Congrats* on your pregnancy! Your last 20 weeks will fly! Trust me my last pregnancy flew!

Yay! Thats so sweet. Daniel can’t wait to feel the babe. He’s a little jealous that I can feel it and he can’t. I want to have the baby in Jersey. I’m really thinking about coming back just to have the baby. I don’t know…but I feel like one of my kids should be born there.

RYN: Tell me about it! Daniel’s son is in 3rd grade here in CO and they’re working on clocks. There will be a picture of a clock with no hands and it will say 9:15 or something under it and they have to draw the hands…3rd grade!!! And they have been doing their times tables 1-4 for the past 3 months or longer. And he STILL struggles. I wish we could come back to Jersey. This kid would die.

Tell me about it. There is a Christian school here, and its not *too* bad…like, $2K for kindergarden. But with 3 (maybe 4 if we get his daughter) kids to enroll, thats close to 15K a year. I don’t make that. And it bothers me SO much cause his kid is having the worst time with this stuff. I keep threatening to send him to my sis in NJ

I didnt go to the best school, but I think my teachers did a damn good job. I think its the whole “Never let a kid feel like he failed” What happened to Special Ed classes? Now they just slow everything down to the dumbest kid in class so they don’t feel different. Everyone suffers that way. They celebrate mediocrety (sp?) and make everyone feel like winners. When I was wrong, I was told so
