1st week *EDIT*

 

Next milestone on the list…. 1 week! And we did it. I can’t believe that he has been gone for a week already. Much less that we are almost to another weekend. This week went by so fast, which is crazy considering that I didn’t really do that much, stayed inside since it’s hitting 110 degrees today. Makes me think about Chris…. it’s usually 123 degrees there during the day. I can’t even imagine.

I wish that I could talk to him. I think that is the hardest part of all this. I haven’t talked to him since Tuesday and when he did call on Tuesday it was a 4min conversation. Let me tell you that while yes it was 4min of heaven that is hardly enough time to say hi, I love you, talk to you later, much less have an actual conversation. I haven’t had a conversation with him since Friday before he left. I miss getting to talk to him, I miss seeing him. Ugh.

But we are at a week down. 1 whole week.

Nicholai’s invitations for his birthday party came in the other day so I’m trying to get those started but I realized that I didn’t write the other day and I wanted to get on here and say that we made it through the first week. I was told by Jess that we have an all but confirmed time for when they are coming home. I want to be excited about it because it’s a lot sooner then I thought but at the same time I don’t want to let myself get too happy about it because even if it was confirmed (which it isn’t) it isn’t safe to get excited about it until they are actually on their way back home. I want to talk to Chris and see what he has heard about it, but hell at this point I would just like to talk to him about anything. We could talk about how the sky is blue for all I care. I just miss his voice.

But enough babble. I have to get started on these invitations so I must go.

I thought that it couldn’t get any better today, but boy was I wrong. Just as I put up on FB about hoping to get an email or phone call or IM I hear my phone go off. And it was an email from hubs! He wrote me a long email talking about how things were and then he said that he might be able to call and about 3 min after I read his email…. HE CALLED!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

A real conversation. 23 min! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate 1 week down in this dpeloyment! He is tired and frustrated. Someone stole not only his bathroom stuff but his new $150 pair of Oakley sunglasses that he just bought about 2 flippin weaks ago! WTF?! He has been gone a week and has already had 3 things stolen! Such utter BULLSHIT! It’s hot there and he has been doing all this shit that should have been done by other people and since they were lazy and didn’t do it they are stuck waiting to get to their final destination. Once they get to where they are going I should be able to talk to him much more.

And there is a good chance that this deployment will be 6 months. He has heard that length too! Ahhh so much good news all in one day.
