2nd Playdate for my Daughter. First one on her own
November 10, 2010
My daughter, Amira, was invited over to her friend, Nora’s house the other day for a playdate. So today was the big day. My 5.5 year old daughter went to her first ever playdate where she was all by herself. I just dropped her off with her backpack, kissed her goodbye, and left her to have fun. It was so weird to just drop her off at a friends. It’s so crazy how fast they grow up. I miss my little girl being little and needing me for everything. Anyways, I dropped Amira off at 9 am and her friend’s mom drove her to school at 12 so I didn’t see her again until after school at 2:30pm. I asked Nora’s mom how the playdate went and she said it was great. She also said it was the quietest playdate she has ever had. They got to play barbies, polly pockets, color, and watch a movie. I am so glad my daughter is making her own friends and finding time to play without her 2.5 year old brother bugging her. I know it’s hard on her when he’s always grabbing stuff from her and wrecking everything that she does or sets up to play. Anyways, my day at home with my son was fun as well. He seems to be less crazy when his big sister is gone. We played a game with a balloon where he would throw it at me and I would have to drop to the ground like he attacked me. He got very upset when I didn’t get up fast enough to do it again, and again, and again. I swear if Tahir could rough house with someone all day long, he would be the happiest kid alive. Well, I am rambling now so I am going to go read for a bit.
