Ugly Day

I have a bug and don’t feel well.  Tried to go to work, but the dow tank (again) and three clients died, and I said forget it and came home.  It is cold, rainy and damp.  I’m cold and Mr M is gone to meetings again.  I scolded (just a little) him for not getting the gas fireplace going before he left.  He chuckled at me and agreed he should have done that. 

Last weekend was our anniversary (17 I believe).  We went bow hunting to celebrate.  We were married on National Hunting & Fishing Day, and we like to get out bow hunting if we can.  The girls joined us this year and worked as the "bird dogs" and pushed the deer toward us.  DJ was worried I was going to fling an arrow at her.  She’s so funny.  I was successful and arrowed my first ever buck with my bow.  It was so exciting, I even ended up punching myself in the mouth during all of it.  Don’t ask, just laugh (with me).   Mr M was supposed to leave at 2;00 that afternoon to go to meetings for work, but he was delayed about 1 hour as we tracked my prize. 

DJ has been running cross country.  She has been doing well, but struggling with sore knees this year.  This past weekend she did not run at all.  She went along with the team to the meet and help the manager.  They don’t know if she will run this weekend either.  If she doesn’t then that will leave just one meet.

The girls are getting excited for hockey to start.  I hope DJ’s knees don’t bother her skating.  If they don’t get better after cross country I will have to take her to the Dr to see what is going on.  There seems to be a lot of kids complaining of knee soreness this year.  I know 3 who have stopped  running, 3 who are "laying offf", and a couple who are still running, but hurting.  I don’t know if they are working them too hard a practice or not hard enough so that they are injuring themselves during meets.  Her team has been doing quite well, winning most of the meets they have been in.  She personally is doing about the same as last year.  She has decided she really doesn’t want to be a distance runner, found track and the dashes much funner, and just wants to run to get into shape for hockey.  I have to support her in her decisions, even if I think she would be the best ever cross country runner if she put her heart into it.  But then that is what mommy’s think! 🙂

JD is playing in the powder puff football game tomorrow night.  She will play safety.  It is funny listening to her.  She never has followed football much and does not know the terms very well.  But she is having a ball.  The game will be fun.  I hope I’m feeling bettter.
