Three Song Challenge
Accepting the Challenge from Coyote Walker~
The Rules:
A) You most pick one song from each of the three categories (and only one for each category), and post the lyrics in an entry. You must also write a short description of why you chose the songs that you did.
B) Leave a note on Coyote Walker’s entry titled “Three Song Challenge”
http://www.opendiary.com/entryview.asp?authorcode=A500545&entry=20149
C) The three categories are:
1) Your signature song. The one song that says, “This is who I am or what I am about.”
B) Your favorite rock-and-roll song. The one song that gets you on your feet and requires you to play air guitar and pound out the drum solos on anything that’s available.
C) A love song. That special song that always pulls at your heartstrings and reminds you of a special person, time or place in your life.
Signature Song: because it is who I am, a mom.
In My Daughter’s Eyes
by Martina McBride
In my daughter’s eyes
I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter’s eyes
In my daughter’s eyes
Everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light
And the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter’s eyes
And when she wraps her hand around my finger
How it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
Is hanging on when your heart has had enough
Is giving more when you feel like giving up
I’ve seen the light
In my daughter’s eyes
In my daughter’s eyes
I can see the future
A reflection of who I am
And what will be
And though she’ll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I’m gone I hope you’ll see
How happy she made me
And I’ll be there
In my daughter’s eyes

Love song: – because it makes me appreciate the love I have
Last Day of My Life
by Phil Vassar
I just left Bobby’s hous
e:
The service was today.
Got me thinkin’ about how fragile life is,
As I drove away.
You know Amy was his only love,
In a moment she was gone, long gone:
It could have been me or you.
Oh, baby, there’s no time to lose.
So I’m gonna bring home a dozen roses,
An’ pour us a glass of wine.
An’ I’m gonna put on a little music,
An’ turn down the lights.
An’ I’m gonna wrap my arms around you,
An’ rock you all through the night,
An’ I’m gonna love you,
Like it’s the last day of my life.
I drive off when the sun comes up:
I get back when it’s gone down.
There’s so much I wanna do with you,
But I can’t be around.
Whoa, time has been just like a theif,
It’s stolen too much from us,
So once it’s gone we can’t make it up.
So tonight, let’s get back in touch.
I’m gonna bring home a dozen roses,
An’ pour us a glass of wine.
An’ I’m gonna put on a little music,
An’ turn down the lights.
An’ I’m gonna wrap my arms around you,
An’ rock you all through the night,
An’ I’m gonna love you,
Like it’s the last day of my…
Life is a rainbow, it’s a spring snow,
It’s the mornin’ dew.
An’ I don’t wanna waste another minute,
Without you.
An’ I’m gonna love you,
Like it’s the last day of my life.
Oh…
I am so glad that you did this….I never thought of shout, but it is definatly a classic rock and roll song.. ThoughI have never heard of the last song…is it a country song???
