One Down

One baby robin has flown the coop!  A fuzzy litle ball that was all speckled and sort of ugly.  He spent most of yesterday sitting on a branch below the nest, flapping his wings.  Then in the late afternoon he fell out of the tree and his daddy came and got him and they flew all over the yard together.  I don’t know where daddy bird took him, but he never came back.  So now there are two in the nest.

The wrens are noisy in their home.  Have not seen the babies in there, but guess it won’t be long before they are out too.

Kind of like my daughters.  JD is so busy flying around these days that I rarely see her.  We did spend Sunday together, just her and I.  It was such a great day.  I will treasure these moments that grow further and further apart.

She interviewed for a job last week at the telephone co.  We know many of the people who work there as they used to be associated with Mr M’s company.  One of our friends interviewed her.  He had a birthday party Friday night and Mr M and I went.  He said she did fabulous.  He said she interviewed better than many adults he has interviewed.  He was impressed by her computer knowledge.  She should find out today or tomorrow on that.  She would be working with cell phones, and doing warranty work.  But regardless of how that works out she and DJ have been hired by our neighbor up north to do some ranch work this summer.  They have all summer to clean up some downed barbed wired.  When they get that done, he has some painting and building and such he would like them to do.  So they will be busy.  They were going to start yesterday, but it rained and they cannot get into the pasture, so they will have to wait until it dries up a bit.  Their daddy needs to take them up there and show them what to do first and he is gone again right now.  Just a quick trip to ND this time.  He should be back late tonight.

Dusty started his job yesterday, although he had to go to several training sessions earlier…but he thinks he’s getting paid for those hours too. Keeping fingers crossed for JD. RYN: Betcha’ DJ wows them at the “Lake”.
