Life and Death

Last week we attended the funeral of Mr M’s boss’s wife.  She had been ill for many years and just could not fight the disease that ravaged her any longer.   It will be interesting to see what happens with the boss man now.  He has a drinking problem anyhow and now without her to keep him grounded, so to speak, I am not sure what will happen.  Mr M says it won’t get as bad as I think.  I hope he is correct.  Anyhow a prayer for Bev and Gary would be nice.

This weekend we went to JD’s first softball tournament.  They were undefeated for the weekend and won the championship game by one run.  Yoohoo!  It was fun.  We camped at a campground with go karts and mini golf.  The entire team came over to the campground and raised havoc with the young boy at the mini golf shack.  He will remember the girls softball team from here for a long time.

Co worker D is gone to FL this week, he mom is having both hips replaced.  I hope everything is going well for her.  D is due to come back next Monday.  Boss said this afternoon, "tomorrow is the longest day of the year", I said, "I thought that was yesterday!"  How did I work here w/o someone else for so long!  I am exhausted.

DJ has her first rehearsal tonight, JD has softball practice at the same time.  20 miles apart!  AAARRGG.

The girls are taking a weight lifting class at the rec center.  They are learning about their muscles and nutrition and loads of great stuff.  Their instructor is designing an individualized plan for each of the kids based on personal interviews she did with them the first day.  What they do, what they want to improve, and so on.  JD said she would like to strengthen her legs for skating.  DJ said everything…instructor told her to put some meat on her bones 🙂  Told her to eat more protein.

They are pouring the concrete floor in the hockey building on Sat.  What a sight and a feat that will be.  It will be one continuous slab.
