Hockey Season
Regular season hockey is over. The girls participated in the state tourney last weekend. This year they were in the 19 & Under division although most of the team is still 14 and under. There are two girls on the team that are 15 so this pushed them into the older age group.
They ended up in 10th place out of 11 teams. They really played awesome. Mr M and I were talking with some of the refs and scorekeepers after their last game and the ref asked which of our girls are seniors. We just smiled and told him, our oldest girls are freshmen. He said "no way".
In a couple of years these girls will be awesome!
Now that the regular season is over we go into "select" mode. Both girls made the Montana teams this year again. But are on seperate teams. They were suppose to have one tournament together the end of March, but DJ’s got moved to Boise, ID. I was excited about this. Thought I was going to get to see some cousins. But, JD still has a tourney here in MT that same weekend and since Mr M is helping coach DJ’s team he has to go to Boise and I have to take JD to her tourney here.
So Coyote Walker, we will have to get in touch with you and let you know when Mr M and DJ will be in town and hopefully you guys can catch up with each other.
Then the first weekend in April DJ has a tourney in Minot and JD has one there the 2nd weekend. I will get to go the first weekend to DJ’s but will have to stay home the 2nd weekend because that is DJ’s first track meet, and our annual walleye banquet.
Then depending on how things work out one or the other or both girls could be selected to advance to a district camp to be held in May, also in Minot.
All this time JD will be playing HS softball and DJ will be doing JH track.
I need to stay home this weekend and clean my house!
good on them! lots of luck to them in the select season 🙂

Yea for my girlie girls!! ~big grin~ RYN: They are fussing that we can only have suitcases weighing 50 pounds (sigh) That’s what I’m busy trying to figure out now, since that big one must weigh at least 30 empty. Next time I’ll drive to the ship and the heck with the airline limits…

P and I are so glad that we got to see DJ and Mr. M….she is one awesome skater, and she a very nice girl. I told her that even though I swore I would never like hockey, she made me into an instant fan…I couldn’t believe how well she can skate..and I even got to see her score 4 goals and 2 assists…Needless to say, I was very impressed…I made it to 3 of the 4 matches.. very fun…Thanks…
