The Old Crowd

classes started this week – yesterday, for me … it was at once terrifying and comforting to walk back into the J/M studio again.  i was there way early cuz i thought class started at 5:15, but it started at 5:30; i had pleanty of time to say hi to everyone again.  me, tennisa and amy were back to our old witty reparte almost imediately … i love those girls …  i gave them both rides back to their cars after class – but, as i may have mentioned – i have no back seat.  not because one doesn’t exist in my car, but because it is currently filled to overflowing with SHIT.  it’s rather horrifying, actually … anyway, so amy ended up sitting on tennisa’s lap, both of them in the front passenger seat, and all i can think of is "if a cop sees us and we had somehow managed to get the seatbelt around both of them, would he sill pull me over?"  but my goodness – the comments flying between the three of us … we sounded like Jon and his friends do.  sometimes i think one of my old not-friends-anymore was right: there’s a little gay in everyone.  i dunno if it’s because society is so facinated with something that it has decided is "unnatural" (although i have my own dissimilar opinions on that theory …) or what, but deep down, weither you fear it or acknowledge it as a fact of life, every person is attracted at least a teeny bit to someone of the same gender.

anyway, off topic.

so yes, our teacher, katie, is SO pregnant; she’s due in very early october … it’s absolutely addorable.  she’s got the perfect baby-belly – beachball round, and no pudge anywhere else … would that i may be so lucky …

we were all of us a little nuts during class though … some WEIRD conversations and topics brought up, let me tell you … katie’s telling us about how some of the enamel has lead in it, and looking into the kilns for a long time could damage your eyes enough to build up cataracts through the years, and inhaling enamel dust (if it’s untreated scylica) can over time cause damage that is similar to black lung, except that the scylica particals are jagged and sharp, so they shread your lungs as well as make it extreemly difficult to breathe.  yay for too much information that we don’t need to worry about anyway because the enamel is treated and the lead in the counter enamel is so minimal that you could be in contact with it consistantly for years and only have the slightest chance of getting sick from it.

then there were the conversations about voluntarily-lactating men, the concept of male pregnancy, amy putting her foot down ABOUT the concept of male pregnancy, a man in india who was born with his dead twin inside of him, tennisa’s friend who had to have a c-section because she was carrying her baby so high that the baby grabbed onto one of the mother’s ribs and wouldn’t let go …

like i said – weird.
but, just like "the ol’ days …"

this is going to be an interesting semester.
