Rant
America, land of opportunity and free speech. Admired by many countries and cultures as being the place to go to better yourself and your life. I too came here with the belief that I would benefit from the land of the free.
WHEN, tell me did it become wrong for someone to voice their opinions in a respectful and non offensive way? I do not care if it was a homosexual male, namely Perez Hilton who asked her that question. What matters here is the fact that she answered it honestly and without compromising HER beliefs.
I am talking about Ms. California’s response to the question at this years Ms. USA’s show. She was asked if she thought that all the states should follow suit with Vermont and legalise gay marriage. She said that she was proud to be from a country where people had such choices, but she herself believed that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
This poor woman has been SLAMMED for this answer and it is WRONG. She answered the question. She answered it honestly and without any kind of ‘gay bashing’.
I myself believe in gay rights, gay marriage and gay parental rights. BUT, I respect people who don’t, just like they respect my beliefs. Would it have been any better for her to say that she did think that gay marriage should be legal all over the USA? NO. Because someone would jump on that bandwagon and bash this girl for being pro gay marriage.
IF YOU DON’T WANT AN HONEST ANSWER, THEN DONT ASK THE QUESTION. PERIOD.
I mean, Ms. USA issued a response to this saying that they are saddened by her opinions and that they do not reflect their views. WHAT????
WHY CAN THIS GIRL NOT VOICE HER OPINIONS FOR WHAT THEY ARE… OPINIONS. HOMOSEXUAL PEOPLE WANT RIGHTS AND TO BE ABLE TO BE GAY WITHOUT BEING SCRUTINISED, SO WHY DOES THAT NOT FOLLOW SUIT FOR STRIAGHT PEOPLE? DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT TO HAVE OPINIONS TOO?
Damn. I am mad about this.
