busted…

so, i began mapping out the story earlier today… and for some reason it didn’t work as well as i had seen it in my head. 

in my head (which, lets face it, is a stormy whirlwind of thoughts) saw this grand story about a king or count, etc, wanting to kill his daughter to further is political career.  i wanted him to hire an assassin to kill her and blame it on another country with which he was at war (princess bride anyone?  lol).  then, she was going to fall in love with the assassin then who knows what else happens.

what i haven’t told you yet, is that this was to be my first libretto.  i’ve never written one before, but have had the urge to write for sometime.  i figured if i was going to take the time to write, then i’d might as well do something worthwhile.  so yeah… the truth comes out. 

i’ve had a few dreams i wouldn’t mind writing out… but i’m not sure i’m in the right frame of mind to write those kind of stories.  its been a long while. 

i wrote a short story the other day and it came out so well.  but now, when i want to write, it just stalls at my fingers and i have nothing.  oy…

so, i have an idea.  how about you all tell me of a few stories?  ones that would make a good story to tell on stage.  for some reason my head is blank of all the good ones right now. 

so, if you have one in mind, let me know.  a book, poem, anything.  something with a story line that could be turned into a simple libretto.  🙂
