Those Magic Changes

"Since tis natures law to change, consistancy alone is strange"

John Wilmot,  The Second Earl of Rochester

It seems that I have graduated from college. With honors I might add, but only Magna….I missed Suma by a tenth of a point. (Man Plans….God laughs) But even though I missed my goal of gold cords and was given silver ones instead, I am still quite proud of my self.

Throughout my college career, I had two professors who acted as my academic parents. From them I recieved two of the most special graduation gifts I could have hoped for. My academic father came to my graduation dinner, but because he couldn’t decide what to buy me for a present, he bought me an alms. He actaully paid money to nuns to pray for me. Needless to say, it was the most unique gift I have ever recieved.

My academic Mother, put on her scholar robes and took part in the ceremony. She got up out of her chair among the other professors and she was waiting to hug me at the end of the diploma procession. I was doing a good job of not crying….right up until then.

The strange part about all this is that earned a degree in English Literature, but I went and got a job doing debt consolidation and debt collection. It’s not paradise, but its home. Once again, Man Plans….God laughs. I recieved my first debt threat over the phone the last week, so I can only be optimistic about the future. (On to graduate school I hope..) My spanish is really improving!

I would have started graduate school right away, but it seems my brain needs a break, and considering it’s now worth a brand new Mercedes, I really should start making some money to pay off my loans. Sigh…..

Little Scholar is well and soon to finish the second grade. She recently donated her hair for the second time (a total of 22 inches) and she looks a bit Mary Badham playing Scout Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. She was unsure at first, but I think she likes being an origonal…

Congratulations to Starz……she is finally a Registered Nurse! YOU GO GIRL!

As Always,

Go Well

Combat boots and mini skirts, sounds like the kind of girls I dated in school. I was a Kurt Cobain type but you know, I thought Joey Ramone was cooler. Congratualations!
