Personal Kryptonite

A dark cloud passed over his head
Leaving trails on his face
He walks about arms wide open
Throwing demons into space

And the weight of the world
Crumpled to a note
In his hand
Down to his knees
No more superman

Flying so high over his head
Searching the world beneath
Trials and toils at every turn
Slowly letting the evil seep

Dangers sprout like falling rain
Not the bullets that break his skin
Nor the bombs thrown at his head
Barbs, coils, and thorns absorbed within

And the weight of the world
Crumpled to a note
In his hand
Down to his knees
Goodbye superman

Skin of steel can crush hardened bones and men
As simple words rend softened hearts

The ones downtown gaze up and see
How he stands, how he flies
No vision to peer what’s inside
Isn’t he
Supposed to be
Much more than you and me

Dark clouds passed over his head
Leaving streams on his face
The world continues to move
While he stands fixed in his place

And the weight of the world
Crumpled to a note
In his hand
Down to his knees
Now he’s

Just a man

Hehe I was sleepy and I wanted to leave something but I was too tired to write. Thanks, and I’ve been around, reading, if silent lately. And.. I really enjoyed this one of yours a lot.
