It is a very sad, horrible, senseless act that could happen anywhere.

Unfortunately, we can’t predict when and where bad things will happen, or who will commit those bad actions. We can do our best to not live in fear, because fear is no way to live.

I guess we can try to make each moment a good one, not because any moment could be our last, but rather because each moment is an opportunity for joy.

I don’t have any children of my own – I do have a niece who just turned five. I don’t fully appreciate parenthood or being part of your own family.

Maybe we’ll never fully understand this tragedy, all the “whys”. Maybe we’ll never know all the reasons or if there were ways to prevent this.

All we know is there are 27 lives no longer with us. My heart and prayers are there.
