Empty Vessels

He woke up from her dream
Images dying in his head

Alone on a bare sheet
“Put something inside me,” he said

“I’ll show you my hands
“I’ll bare you my skin”

Where did it go
Where did the poison go

The faint mist
Still lingers in the air

Empty jars
Empty strangers
It’s draining, it’s draining
Catch it before it’s gone

He told me of her dream
He crawled through the hole – (and never looked back)

I’ve seen himself split
In darkened places

Silent epitaphs
Reflected on their faces

“What, where is that life?
“I can only run so far

“Ahead is the forest
“Beyond I see the mountain, covering the sea”

Empty hands
Empty containers
It’s draining, it’s draining
Catch me before I’m gone

There’s a fracture at the bottom

And I
I could never satisfy
