Beauty and the Loner

Have you heard the story
Of a certain lady
And a man run down

She was a brown-eyed beauty
With a wide eyed vision
And a heart so pure

He was an accidental loner
A thief with a conscience
And hands so fine

They met at the playhouse
On the second storey
Trading hands and hearts

“Tell me what you’re seeing –
“Better than what you’ve been dreaming,
“All these days gone by?”

“I’ve got a certain feeling –
“No need for rules or reasons
“Just our lives entwined.”

And then the gates come crashing down
The wind stripped the tree
The river ran out
Before the morning light

The king’s eyes were a’ watching
“No girl o’ mine’s going slumming
“With a mud stained hound.”

The bridges were burned and broken
That early Saturday night
They could smell the smoke

This beauty and this loner
Looked across at one another
From the other side

“I want to make a promise to you
“I don’t really know now
“If I can keep.”

“No matter where the road goes
“There will always be a heart beating
“Just for you.”

And then the gates come crashing down
The wind stripped the tree
The river ran out
Before the morning light

Now I heard she’s a preacher
Talking about what went wrong

He became a leecher
Sucking at life right to the bone

Now you’ve heard the story
Of a certain lady
And a man run down

Amazing as always. *Sighs* I need to catch up on your entries! RYN-Thanks, your advice was appreciated. Yeah, something needs to happen because he is getting older and those teen years are fast approaching. I don’t want him filled with that teenage angst…although it may be to late. =) As a step-like parent I have had so much trouble. Sometimes I just want to take off running. Again, thanks. =)
