B-day came and went

My birthday came and went yesterday.  The important people remembered.  Everyone else…  eh…  whatever.  I used to be important to a lot more people, but these days, I don’t have many friends.  They’ve all moved on to their own lives with their busy schedules and daily crises.

My extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins) didn’t bother to acknowledge my birthday.  My best friend from my workplace did, though…  even though she left the company over 10 years ago to get married & move to New Jersey with her hubby.  I hadn’t spoken with her in almost a year, so I called her yesterday.  Her birthday is the same day, so it’s kind of a fun thing to do to wish each other Happy Birthday at the same time.

Today, life goes on.  I hate being the center of attention, so I’m glad to relinquish that for another 364 days.  Time to get ready for work, as usual.  Yay.
