All to familiar

AS SOON AS I GOT HOME today I ran to the pool as quickly as possible.  My home away from home.  I tore off my clothes while walking through the house and put on my bathing suit as quickly as possible.  Only stopping to pee and read the mail while I was doing it.  I cracked open a bottle of wine (just because it was the only alcohol we had) and put it into a frozen mug and brought it with me.  Ha.  The neighbor I’ve befriended wasn’t there, so I pulled my chair in to the 6 p.m. sun and opened my good summer read.  Once the wine was gone, about an hour later, I got up and walked home. 

The whole drive home I thought about stopping at the liquor store and getting some rum to make a mojito to drink to enjoy pool side.  I grew mint this year with the rest of my herbs just so I could make mojito’s and I haven’t yet.  I’m disappointed at that.   I decided against it, since it was already late and there wasn’t much sun left.  I’m glad I did.

Work is in full swing now.  I went through training with the girl I’m replacing for 2 days, I went through orientation and now I’m on my own.  It’s overwhelming.  I was stressed out today and I almost lost it for a second this morning, but I got it together.  I really want to do a good job and I have to understand that you can’t learn it all in one day.

I’m an Administrator.  It feels good to have a title, but with that comes…. a bunch of stuff. 

I’ve got a serious itch for the beach right now.  It’s all I’ve been thinking of.  I’ve got to get there and soon.  I’m like dying to go to the beach.  It’s been so long.  HOPEFULLY if it’s cool with my new boss I’ll be going in TWO WEEKS (Eek!).  He kinda said it was cool, but he didn’t seem thrilled about it and we were interrupted so I’m not sure if his "OK" is the final word or not.  I suppose I’ll ask him again when I get a chance.  Things at the casino have been crazy.  We are opening table games and my boss has been working really hard to get it all together in time for the opening in 1.5 days.  If not, well I’ll just have to wait and go in Sept with Mark on our own dollar.  It will be worth it.  I’m dying for an all you can eat Maryland crab dinner! 

The only bad part about coming home at 6 p.m. and opening the wine is that now I’m so dead-tired I don’t feel like picking up around the house.  But someone has to and I’m afraid that’s me!

Tomorrow’s Thursday!  Praise God for that!
