A Belated Thanksgiving
I haven’t been doing a good job writing lately. I’ve been neglecting this place and I don’t know why. It just seems like there’s not enough time in the day. Which, I know, is a poor excuse. I finally gave up on the NoJoMo challenges. I was only giving 50% and I didn’t think that was right. All my NoJoMo entries were short and vague. That’s not fun to look back on. There’s no memory there so I just gave up. I really do want to do better though. I just have to make it work.
Another reason why I quite writing is because I got sick last week. Oh my, it was terrible. I don’t think I’d been that sick in a long time, years even. I got the seasonal flu shot for the first time this year and the H1N1 vaccine in October so I knew it was nothing serious, but it was still bad. When I returned to work I was telling a physician about my symptoms and he said I caught the flu partially but because I was vaccinated I didn’t get ALL the symptoms. Then he said imagine if it was twice as long and twice as bad, ugh. It was crazy how it happend too. Usually sickness creeps up on you and you slowly start to feel like crap. Well not this time, I went to bed feeling fine Saturday night and woke up Sunday with a throat so sore I didn’t even want to swallow. Terrible. I think I also had a fever that first day too. As the week went on it got worse and worse until I got the chills, body aches, congestion the whole nasty combination. Tuesday I woke up thinking I was could make it through a work day but needed to leave by 10 am just feeling like straight shit and I also didn’t want to get anyone else sick either. Now that I carpool I had to have Mark drive the 30 minutes to pick me up and take me home. I was so thankful for him that day! I bought more cold medicine then I think I had in years and stayed home until Thursday. I still have a cough but that will pass eventually.
Good ole Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I’m happy to get out of town for a few days and have some fun!
