Have you ever been discriminated against. *Edit*

*Edit*

The question of the week is "Have you been discriminated against?" That really isn’t an open-ended question. Though I’m sure most people will answer fully as to the how; but the question should be "How have you been discriminated against."

For me, though, I have had people look down on me for being a Pastor’s kid (pk) and for being home-schooled. Once people actually get to know me, they are surprised when they find out I was home schooled. I don;t often tell people when I first meet them that I was home schooled. One thing they can’t tell. I am not the straight laced kid wearing khakis and a polo shirt (kinda like the Duggar kids on 20 kids and counting show on TLC) also with a parted hair style and no side-burns look cutting at the top of where the ear meets the face. You know the look I’m talking about.

It’s not that I’m ashamed, I’m proud to have been home schooled. My children will be home schooled. But I am not stuck in that socially awkward stereotype. But I have been written off many a time while I was in high school because I was able to work at times other high school students were in class.

But the story I want to tell is more based on my attire. What I wore is not the typical polo (or denim button down shirt) and kahkis. I was wearing a hoodie and jeans. So here is my answer to the theme of the week. *end edit*

I went to Best Buy once, wearing a hoodie and jeans. The hood was down, and I kept my hands in the front pocket of the shirt. I was browsing movies and video games and evey 5 seconds someone asked if I needed help. If I looked up, i would catch another sales guy quickly look away like he was caught staring. And the same sales guys were extra friendly to the man in the $300 business suit with his little daughter at his side.
