What Kind of God Are You?

What kind of God are you?

To let me be brought into this world.

What kind of God are you?

I believe in you,

I spoke your praise,

I said my prayers.

I went to church,

I read my Bible.

What kind of God are you?

To let this continue.

What kind of God are you?

Look at this world,

Where the kind are punished,

And the cruel are allowed to thrive.

What kind of God are you?

To let a world remain where the honorable fall,

Where virtues are a weakness,

Constantly exploited.

Throw them away and create your own strength,

But there is no reward,

No light for this way.

What kind of God are you?

I’ve lost myself,

So many have been washed away.

We can’t stand as we should,

For the world around us is a dark place.

You can either change or be swept away.

Why did you let me,

Let all of us live now?

I don’t want to hear of these tests of faith,

That’s all a lie that people cling to.

What kind of God are you?

I am strong,

And so are many others I know.

They have all left your light,

You pushed them away as you have done me.

I’m watching others break though,

Who still cling to the idea that there is some kindness,

Something worthwhile within this world,

I have to stand by and watch them fall.

What kind of God are you?

I might believe in you,

But that doesn’t mean I have to like you.

I feel the same most of the time. I grew up in a wild charismatic church, then I moved away from home. I don’t really go anymore, I just don’t feel him, even when I talk to him or read the bible I just don’t feel like he’s with me.
