Fool
I’m a fool.
A fool to let myself dream,
A fool to stare out over that chasm and take the last step again.
Don that jester’s cap,
Dress me in the black and white.
For the fool I play again.
I show myself once more,
Speak out what I should keep hidden.
Let one last person see my heart.
Fool.
Dance upon that stage,
Make them laugh even though you hurt inside,
They don’t know,
Can’t see how you cry.
It’s alright,
Because they can’t tell.
They’ll never see past that mask,
Past the facade,
They don’t care to.
Not anymore,
Just hope it will go away.
Just be friends they say.
Dance again as the fool for one last day.
