Milk From A Glass! and some Videos
Well, Today ShaiAnn drank her first CUP of milk. She did SO well! Shes hardly spills a drop anymore. Of course shes not stable really holding the glass level so it wont spill over the edge, but she can walk around with it and not spill it. I just have been feeling under the weather for a couple days and didnt feel like washing out her sippy cup this morning…so I handed her a plastic cup of milk and we went out on the deck to drink it.
Last night was the worst night so far for her being in a toddler bed. She got up LOTS and didnt want to stay in bed. I mean she is still doing a lot better than some of the horror stories you hear, but shes not doing as well as I want her to. I kept going in and putting her back into bed…and then 10 or so minutes later you would hear her playing with a toy…or the pages of a book turning…and I would have to go back in and put her in bed. No screaming fits or anything…Just sneaking back out of bed after we close the door.
I picked up Supernanny by Jo Frost yesterday while I was out. I am hoping it will help me out a lot. I know I have to stop using a raised voice when I am trying to get ShaiAnn to stop doing something because she has started to do it back to me. Its all a learning process and I want to catch my mistakes before they get out of hand. As soon as I raise my voice I remember that its very very wrong and lower my voice and squat down beside her and talk to her in a normal controlled voice.
Mom bought her some training panties! Im not going to use them yet tho, I dont plan on potty training her for a while I dont think. I dont think she is physically ready yet. Shes getting there mentally, she has been telling me when shes pees and poops…so thats a step in the right direction right. I put her on the potty (I put the potty lid on the toilet cause thats what she seems to want) and as soon as she gets there she wants down right away…but then asks to get back up…Its funny.
