I’m probably going to go to bed soon, since my life isn’t worth staying awake for. That, and I’ve been tired for the last couple of days. We finally had our power restored yesterday afternoon, after almost three whole days. It was stressful and I didn’t get much rest.
Moving home doesn’t seem so bad anymore. The power doesn’t go out for three days there, when elevators break they are fixed, and there aren’t over a million self-important douchebags on the freeway driving like morons because THEY are important and NEED to get to their destination 3 minutes sooner than they would if they drove like a rational person. I did the math, once. For speeding to actually make a difference, you have to either grossly exceed the speed limit (like, double it) or travel a very long distance.
For example, if a person is traveling at the speed limit of 70 mph for a distance of 15 miles, it will take about 13 minutes if traffic is decent. If the person traveling decides to be a dickwad and go 10 mph over the speed limit, that trip will take about 11 minutes. Going 80 instead of 70 shortens the trip by only 2 minutes.
If someone is going 500 miles, though, a speed increase of 10 mph actually shaves quite a bit of time off the trip. A 500 mile trip at 70 mph will take about 7 hours. At 80 mph it takes just about 6 hours. The time savings is about 45 minutes.
In the first example, doubling the speed limit reduces the trip time to about 6 ½ minutes. Therefore, if you’re running 5 minutes behind on your 15 mile commute, you can still get to work nearly on time only if you go 140 mph. Going 10 over will yield no noticeable results, so don’t be a twat.
Enough about shitty driving.
Actually I have nothing else to talk about. Well, I do, but I don’t want to.
lol..yeah.. I knew someone who said(all proud).. ‘I can get into town in ten minutes’..and I replied..”wow!! .. you save 5 minutes driving dangerously..good for you!!”.. they weren’t pleased >.> People are pathetic..
