Yay for Syd!

She brought me home her spelling test from Friday, the one we studied for on Wednesday AND Thursday, and she got a HUNDRED PERCENT!  That’s the first test all year long that she’s done that on!  So whoohoo for Sydni!  She did good, and I’m proud of her.  She’s also been told that if this happened, she’d get a prize… and she told me she wouldn’t bug me about the prize, which I’m glad to hear, because while I do think she deserves a prize, I don’t want to hear about it a ton.  I’ll probably grab something out of the "prize drawer" to give her.  I keep small presents and prizes in one drawer to give when the girls do something extra special or when we need an emergency birthday present, but it’s gotten pretty barren.

Well, Shabree and I were watching Mulan, but it’s pretty distracting to Syd, so I had her turn it off.  It’s been raining today.  Poor Shabree, she wanted to go to the park, and I looked at the sky, and told her, IF the sun comes out, we can go, and it started raining instead, so it’s been an indoor day.  We’ve played "home home" and Shabree pretended the kitchen was the ocean and the living room was the beach, so she would "collect shells" and put them in a "pail" near where I was "sleeping on the beach" (the couch), and if she needed a pail or a shovel or something, she’d come get it from me, and I’d pretend to hand it to her, and she pretended to build a sand castle, and that’s the most fun I’ve HAD playing "home home"  Usually there’s no real direction to that game, and it gets boring.  She even turned off the tv to play, which was amazing.

I’m going to post this, and then write a separate entry for what happened last night when Jerry and I talked about Saturday… it doesn’t really belong here.
