Stuff to think about-101 in 1001 related
Boy, am I having trouble getting to this section so I can WRITE. But here I am, finally, so here I go, lol:
First off, I’ve been seeing a LOT of 101 in 1001 lists popping up, and I’ve been toying with the idea of making one. I like the idea of it, and I’m kind of a lousy goal setter. Maybe if I had a reminder… and the thing about the 101 is you have to be SPECIFIC. Here is what the 101 page says (edited for spelling):
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.
2. Stay Focused. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.
3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.
4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.
5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.
I also found this on the page, and it’s really gotten me to thinking:
1. Who do I love, and what am I doing about it?
2. Am I pursuing my dream, or is fear stopping me?
3. Am I doing something that matters?
4. What am I doing to help others?
5. Am I as good a person as I want to be?
6. What am I doing to live life with passion, health and energy?
What I really want to do with this list of questions is just let it run around my brain and stew for a bit. Ponder the questions, though truthfully, I have been working on this post for over an hour now, and I haven’t had time to ponder ANYTHING. I’ve got something like 5 things on my 101 list… so far. Let me post them, in no particular order. I also need to get specific with the Write… write what? a number of short stories? A novel? Do a rough draft in 30 days kind of thing? So yea, that one needs a bit of work. But here is the start of my list, and I may add or remove things, this is NOT my permanent list by any means:
101 in 1001
Grow my own herb/vegetable garden
Read 100 books
Learn to cook 10 new recipes (0/10)
Write
Go see a musical
Watch 100 movies
Some of these I took from other blogs, some came to me. And like I said, I need to get more specific with the Write. So we’ll see where this one leads me. I was also thinking I need to do something about my temper, my yelling, but what? And how to word it so I’m always working on it?
And with that, I’m going to wrap this entry up… I am either going to go read my book, or I am going to watch The Dead Zone. I’ll work on the list over the next few days.
I want to do this so bad but Im always so crazy busy and when Im not Im sick! RYN: what was REALLY crazy is that little girl was one example of SOOO many that we saw. My other friend from OD went with her daughter, her sister and her kids. She mentioned it, too.

How about something like… Learn to control my temper; Do such and such for each time I lose my temper. OR Learn to stop yelling and have a calm demeanor; Each time I yell or lose my cool I will stop and acknowledge to myself that I had the wrong reaction. Once I’ve calmed down I will apologize to whomever I lost it with and explain to them why I should not have lost my cool even though what they did may still be wrong. Finally I will I.E. write 3 alternative reactions that I could have used instead of losing it. Good Luck
