NoJoMo Day 8

Okay, quick entry before we go to the grocery store at 10 at night!  Oh well, I am a night owl, so that’s fine.  I’ve got my list of stuff to get, it’s not long, but we do need the basics, bread, eggs, veggies and fruits, etc.  Jerry cleaned the living room carpet today with the Kirby, and it looks GOOOOOD.  YAY for having a clean carpet.  Yay, yay, yay.  Now if only I could ge the couch cushions cleaned up, they’re yucky.  I wish I could get a new couch.  That’s what I really want.  Well… amongst other things.  At this point, a year, or is it two, into this whole not having money thing… things are gonna start needing replacing, like the couch, which was an off the street freebie grab when we got it.  It’s comfy, however, some of the springs are sprung, and it’s an off white couch… MIGHT have been white at one point, lol… it is now more of a gray couch with darker gray spots.  It’s just… ugh.  I want, nay, NEED a new couch.  The van is gonna need replacing soon… hopefully it’ll last awhile longer.  I’ll drive it into the ground, but it’s leaking oil, there’s no A/C which is positively MISERABLE in the summertime, and the doors need fixing.  It’s in fairly sad shape.

What else?  Oh, I need to clean the tile… would like to get the grout cleaned out, so it can have sealant put all through it, and look like the grout is white, instead of black.  Another ugh.

I can’t believe Thanksgiving…and Christmas, will be here so soon.  It’s going to be a tough season, I think.  We shall see.  Dad sent me two Wal mart cards, don’t know why, don’t know how much they have on them.  When we do get some money, I am SO going to owe him.  Well… I’ll do something about it, even if I don’t "owe" him, because he’s just being a dad, and that’s what dads (and moms!) do.

Oh, I got a cell phone today, from a business partner of Jerry’s that wasn’t using it!  Whoohoo.  It’s got unlimited minutes on it, it’s a red blackberry, and it’s NOT being paid for by us (but IS being paid for by the guy that was "paying" our mortgage, so it’s always a question as to whether the phones are going to keep working… but so far, so good.)  It also has unlimited browsing, so I can get on the net with it, mapquest things out, check my email, etc.  It’s pretty darn cool.  The one thing I haven’t been able to figure out how to do on it… change the doggone ring tone, so it’s not the same as Jerry’s.  Can you believe that?  I’ve been ALL through that phone, and there isn’t a clear way of doing it, trust me, I’d find it if it was there.  I think they want you to have to shop the ring tones, it’s kind of a scam.

Well, I’m going to wrap this up… I need to go take my milk producers, get my shoes on, get the baby who’s going with us in her car seat, and generally get ready to go… don’t forget my list!!!

Laters.

I had to laugh at the couch comment about the springs being sprung. We got ours as a freebie too and its run its course for sure. COngrats on the cell phone. Things like that just make your day. By the way, I do the night time shopping at Wal-mart when I need groceries because there is no one there! Take care.

Yay for the upcoming holiday season! *hugs* I hope yours is blessed one. 🙂

RE: *hugs* Thank you, too, for the advice. I just don’t want to lose our child (as in, him/her getting taken away) because we can’t afford it. Yes, I worry WAY TOO DAMN MUCH! *lol*
