Quickie, I guess.
We went and saw Iron Man, and it was SO GOOD. Highly recommend, and Robert Downey Jr is looking PRETTY good these days. It’s good to see him in the movies again. The movie was done really well. No campiness, the motivation of the character made sense, the "evil" guy wasn’t overdone by any stretch, and it had just a TOUCH of romance (for us girls? LOL) And there’s a teaser at the end of the credits… I won’t ruin it, but if you go see it by any chance, stay for the credits. Then we saw Deception Point, which had Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor… has THAT boy grown up! WOW. I recognized him… but could NOT place him. And, I hate to say it, but I had to ask Jerry WHO he played in Star Wars (um… Anikin Skywalker… I had thought so, but wasn’t sure. I felt a BIT stupid. Some self proclaimed geek *I* am!)
Before going to the movies, we went to dinner at a new Japanese buffet place in Roseville, which is a ways from home, but close to where we were anyway. The food was DIVINE. I was glad we went, though I have to say, going to a SUSHI place when PREGNANT is a little bit of a waste. I enjoyed it a LOT so don’t get me wrong, but I had to be VERY careful about what I ate. Though both Jerry and I wondered… at this point in the pregnancy when all the building is pretty much done, and the baby’s mostly just adding fat for the next four weeks… is it really that bad to eat raw fish? But… better safe than sorry. I had to get a waitress to show me which ones to avoid, though I must say, I’m getting PRETTY good at identifying the stuff I CAN have as opposed to the stuff I can’t. Oh, and the sushi was yummy. They had teriyaki beef that tasted just a bit sweet and a bit salty, and it was JUST how I like teriyaki. I had some tempura beans and carrots, but kind of thought to myself, WHAT is the point of eating FRIED vegetables? I also had some edemae, and THAT brought a thought of wasting tummy space on veggies, lol… but I LOVE edemae. I wish you could get good Asian food at the grocery store, but it’s near impossible, and by the time you spend all the money on it, you could go to a buffet for about 3 dollars more and it’s just better. That doesn’t count deli food though, just frozen. I think Chinese and Japanese food tops my favorite foods list (unless you count GOOD clam chowder, which by the way, Hometown Buffet is my current favorite for. Actually, Friday nights wouldn’t even be worth going for if not for the clam chowder.), then I love Italian. Indian and Pakistan food is about the only ones I can’t get my tastebuds around. When I was dating Asim, he took me to a Pakistani place in Berkeley, and I just didn’t care for the food at all. It’s a LOT like Indian… but then, those two countries border, so that makes sense. I’m also highly fond of Thai food, though the best Thai restaurant I ever went to was in the Bay Area near the Jelly Belly factory… Sassoon? I can’t remember the city name. That’s not it, but it’s close. It was in a shopping center on Hwy 12 that’s just before the intersection of Hwy 80… but I guess you’d have to know the area to get that reference. Still… best Thai food I ever had. And I don’t even know if the place still exists, it’s been a few years since we went there last.
Oh, my belly itches. And I need to get off the computer. So will go ahead and post this. It was a wonderful night! And I look forward to a night with NO children, and a morning with NO children . I might actually get to sleep in, with no one coming in going "Mommy…." and then tattling or asking for something stupid!
G’ night!

“wasting tummy space on veggies”…that’s EXACTLY something my hubby would say! I’m a semi-vegetarian, and he’s what we call a meatetarian…hehe.
