More about Christmas

There was so much I didn’t get a chance to tell, that even though we ARE going to hit the after Christmas sale at Wal mart in the morning at 6 a.m. I’m going to write about it anyway.

So my DVD wasn’t under the Christmas tree.  Sydni made me a little homemade keychain, and Shabree gave us a foam frame with her picture in it that they made at school, and it was really cute.  Instead, I opened a…. toilet paper tube?

Inside the toilet paper tube was a clue, and the treasure hunt was on.  It led everywhere, and even the kids were in on it, til finally, I was to grab Jerry’s ass.  LOL… now THAT is my husband… he never misses a chance to have me grab his ass!  LOL  And in it, was a box…. and as Jane began to take the picture of me opening the box…. the camera died!  Oh man….  so I had Sydni run and get the spare battery (she’s the only other one besides me that knows the drill.) and as I sat there, I felt the box, and it felt like a DVD box…. and I thought to myself, I hope this is a Dance Dance Revolution DVD.  So when we got the camera up and running, I opened it, and of course, that’s EXACTLY what it was, much to my happiness.  I think it’s got more songs on it than my old one, so that’s good.  I’m not sure how I feel about the songs, but so far, I’m really enjoying it.  Though my doggone KNEES.  Plural.  If it’s not one hurting, it’s the other.  So I have to go easy.

I have managed to misplace the battery charger for my good camera… it’ll turn up, probably right in front of my face.  I remember when I put it away thinking, this is a BAD idea.  And so it was.  I simply can’t remember where I put it, and will be forced to clean up to find it.  Oh well… could be worse, I suppose, it could be lost, stolen, etc… it’s simply misplaced.  There was a MONTH a few years back when I misplaced the whole camera bag.  I thought it had been stolen.  I looked down one day into a pile of post office boxes and screamed…. there was my camera!   It had been missing for a month.  We couldn’t just go out and buy a new one, so I just moped about it.  I sure was glad to have it back!

The kids got presents from us, just a few of course, but they also got presents from Jane’s family (the older two’s family really, but the are SO good to the younger girls too… I love these people.  They are wonderful), my dad, an OD friend who lives in the area.  Good Lord, she spoiled them!  And Sydni, she acted it too…because when she didn’t get a big fat peppermint stick… she complained bitterly about it, kept asking if she could buy one tomorrow, and would not get over it.  You’d think her Christmas had been ruined, when just a few hours before, she stated, and I quote "This is the BEST Christmas ever!"  I mean, she loved everything she had gotten, had exclaimed, in front of Jane, to me as she opened one of her presents, the cereal straws, I think "You are the BEST mommy!"  LOL… poor Jane is sitting there going "What about me?" And Sydni said "You too, Mommy."  ROFL.  When I brought out dad’s gifts, I told the girls, "These are from grandpa, and you know what that means…." and they did.  But except for one DVD that was Disk TWO of Bambi, it was all good… though some have scratches and aren’t QUITE reading right.  I think we can fix them, we have a disk repair kit.  Dad gave me Christmas with the Kranks and we watched that in our bedroom, last thing before bed, and we fixed it first, and it worked great.  That was a nice, VERY nice ending to the day.  We were all comfy-cozy in our bedroom, the girls essentially took turns laying on the bed (except for Syd) though about 15 minutes in, we realized Sammi really needed to go to bed.  Now, HER day has consisted mostly of candy.  Oh my… she’s had a LOT of candy.  So I expect she had a major sugar crash.  We don’t usually get them so much candy and sugar, but with the EBT card… well, I guess I caved.  Oh well.  Sammi… she seemed, I don’t know, like she didn’t quite care about her gifts.  We’d hand her presents, and she wouldn’t open them (and by the way, Sydni DID get over her attitude, and later on, Shabree gave her half of her peppermint stick, which was good of Shabree… though honestly, I’d already given Sydni MY candy cane AND a marshmallow sucker the baby got for Christmas, so she made out like a freaking BANDIT with her poor me attitude…..grrr on that!)  Anyway, back to Sammi.  She took a bath with Shabree and got to play with her new bath toys.  She got a doll from my OD friend, and the LOVED that… when she got that, she immediatly started feeding it with the bottle that was included, and putting it’s binkie in its mouth.  She loved her toys.  And Alex… she ADORED her new "My first bear" and her spinning toy.  She wasn’t… fascinated by much of anything else, those were obviously the favorites.  I got Jerry a set of hot sauces, and he loved those, and a gismo that takes the air out of bags that cost like 3 dollars (they make their money on the bags) and he thought that was a cool thing.  He also got the requisite Almond Rocas, so he ate the LAST one from LAST year, making a big production of it, lol.  And lastly, he got some Ritz crackers and summer sausage, which we all got to eat for lunch.  Becca got something like that too, though no crackers, and she shared the ham that was in there.  All the girls except for Alex got new shoes, and LOVED them…Sammi LOVES shoes, and I got her some boots for going to the snow.  Sydni got Hannah Montana shoes, that I snuck into the basket under her nose, lol…and got away with it.  Not so much with Shabree’s tinkerbell shoes, but she loved them anyway, and they did come with some lip gloss she had NOT known about, so she was pretty excited about that… Becca about had a fit when she saw the make up (I think because she hadn’t gotten any, truthfully!  But she did later on from her aunt.)  They also got some ornaments, and oh gosh, coloring books, and crayons, and a Hannah Montana stamp set got given to Becca, so of course Syd traded her for that… or no… maybe it got given to Shabree, who wouldn’t trade it… I don’t know.  Syd’s so Hannah Montana crazed… she got plenty of stuff that was Hannah Montana.  Oh, and I found Disney Princess lights on sale last night at Walgreens for 50% off, so "Santa" put those on the tree for the kids to wake up to!  All in all… Santa did good this year.

And with that… I have a crying infant, and I SERIOUSLY need to get to bed, if I have ANY thought of getting up at 5:30 to hit Wal mart at 6 a.m. for the after Christmas sales.  HA… I don’t need anything.  I’m just taking the kids, so Bec can get her bath set she’s been jonsing for.  Mom’s sending gift cards, so we’ll use those to replace these.  50% off a bath set is hard to pass up.  And she might want to get some make up too.  I told her underwear and bras are a MUST though.

It was a good Christmas.
