Freaking Grrrr

Becca doesn’t listen.  It pisses me off to no end.  I tell her, Becca, when you feed the baby, DON’T give her a WHOLE jar of baby food… if she won’t eat it all, then you can’t refrigerate the rest.  I’ve told her this since SAMMI was a baby.  So I asked her to feed Alex, and guess what she did?  Started feeding her from the jar!  And when I told her I’ve told her not to do that in the past, she gets real pissy with me and tells me I did not.  I’ve told her… I’ve told Syd, I’ve told Kristin…. does Becca EVER freaking LISTEN when I speak?  So of course Alex ate half the jar and didn’t want any more.  So I told Becca that she needs to keep offering it to her, so she’ll hopefully eat it tonight, and it won’t go bad.  I’m so freaking tired of wasting expensive jars of baby food.  I can’t get them pureed like that at home.  Truthfully, I ought to just stop buying that stuff, and figure out what I can give her that’s table food, because it IS expensive, and my kids are so wasteful.

Next time you’re at a thrift store, you should look for a food mill. I always thought I’d never be able to get food as smooth as the pureed stuff in the jars but a food mill does soooo great! It’s a little more work, I know, but so worth it. This way, too, you can make big batches and freeze them into serving sizes. This could help Becca a little, too. She can just pick out the baggie/container with the single serving from the freezer and microwave it for a few seconds. You can even do family-sized servings of mashed potatoes and stuff and freeze them for later. I LOVE my food mill!

Here’s a great site, or at least a great article, on doing your own baby food. http://www.parentsociety.com/viewarticles/Make_Homemade_Baby_Food

Brandie said what I would. even if you cant find one in a thrift store they have some pretty inexpensive ones now that work really well. I wish I hadn’t given all of this type of stuff to my brother. I had several types and they just ended up giving them away (cause my brother & his woman suck like that). If I still had them, I would have sent them your way. Do you guys have a babies r us there? thats where I got mine.. I just looked on their website. They have the hand crank one for 12.99 with a case for it. I preferred the electric ones but thats like 32 something. The hand crank one was ok..it was just a little messier
