Christmas Survey

I was logging onto OD, when I noticed a diary on the front page had this survey.  I loved the survey, but I MAY have found a new favorite, I’m not sure.  I’m trying to limit my faves these days, I can barely read the ones I already have.  Anyway, I "borrowed" the survey, it was too much fun.  We have a mouse in the house, probably more than one, and I thought I heard it in the pantry… OH NO… so hopefully I will have more on that later.  I forgot to write yesterday.  I don’t care.  I’ve got a cold, so I stayed in bed reading Twilight.  It was good, though I can’t say that I’m "in love with it."  But I enjoyed reading it.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?  Depends on the gift.  If it’s easy to wrap, paper… if not, a bag, or just throw a blanket or something over it.

 2. Real tree or Artificial? We’ve always been the real tree kind of people.  But it looks like this year, we will be having a 3 foot artificial tree, pre-lit.

3. When do you put up the tree?  Usually after Thanksgiving, but this year has been a bit odd.  The tree is missing one piece of the stand, Kristin brought the girls a bunch of ornaments (some with names on them… ?) so the tree is sitting in a corner where the wall supports it, with all these ornaments Kristin broought over.  WEIRD!  I priced a plain 5 or 6 foot artificial tree at Wal mart the other day, and it was 20 dollars.  I MAY just have to buy that… if they have ANY in stock!

4. When do you take the tree down? That depends too.  Usually around Jan 2nd.

5. Do you like eggnog?    The rest of the family loves it… I do not care for it.

 6. Favorite gift received as a child? Buffy, our toy poodle.  Of course, we’d had her since November, but she was "supposed" to be a gift for a friend.  I had it in my heart that she was really a gift for us, and lo and behold, on Christmas Eve there was an envelope with a picture of her, and a note "My name is Buffy, and I belong to Chaunce and Sarah xxxxxxx"  BEST surprise ever.  I loved that dog.  She was SO smart.  And adorable to boot.  And she didn’t give kisses… I appreciated that.  I could go on about that dog.  But I won’t.

  7. Hardest person to buy for?  My mother, which is why I typically actually don’t.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 16.2pt 3.4pt; background: white none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;” class=”ececmsonormal”> 8. Easiest person to buy for? The girls of course.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? No…. we simply don’t do the religious thing.  Though I would secretly kind of like one… but you know, having grown up Catholic, I can honestly say, we NEVER had a nativity scene that I recall.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?   Well, most years, I don’t send them myself.  I have once or twice, to a FEW select people, and I made those cards myself.  As far as receiving, I prefer mail as well.

 11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?  I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a truly bad Christmas present.  None that I recall.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?  Miracle on 34th Street, the original, in color though.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?  Typically I start the day after Christmas, when everything is 50% off…. could not do that this year though.  But I do keep a "gift box" for things to go into that are meant to be gifts.  It’s very empty this year 🙁

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?  I think Shabree might have given away one this year as a birthday present to someone else.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas ?  I have to CHOOSE?

16. Lights on the tree?   Colored ones, always.

 17. Favorite Christmas song ?  Angels we have heard on high (you should hear me sing it.  Hm… maybe that’s something I should put on here.)  Our family does quite a rendition of Rudolph, too, lol ;).  Top of our lungs kind of thing, lol 😉

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?  Usually we stay home, but we go to Jerry’s mom every so often.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 16.2pt 3.4pt; background: white none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;” class=”ececmsonormal”>19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer’s?   Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen- and, of course, Rudolph.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?  Depends… stuff’s been broken.  Actually, I BELIEVE we’re putting a Santa up there presently.  🙂

 21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?  Well… we’ve been known to open presents on Christmas Adam, Christmas Eve, AND Christmas morning.  LOL…  (Okay, Christmas Adam is the day before Christmas Eve… GET IT?  LOL)

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?  Hm…. the kids, I think.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?  Oh… probably purple… if you know me, you know I’m "purple girl"  However… that being said, there’s not THAT much purple on my tree.  Though I MIGHT, when there is money, get a fake tree and decorate it ALL in purple.  We’ll see.  *grins evilly*

24. Favorite drink for Christmas dinner?  Toss up between spiced apple cider, sparkling grape/apple cider, and of course… diet dr pepper… I mean, what dinner would be complete without it?

25. What do you want for Christmas this year?  heart rate monitor, ink cartrides for my Epson R1800 and R300s, and a better year than this last.

I don’t feel bad if people don’t end up reading me. Lord knows I write too much, and I don’t always get to read up on my favs…

I Loved this one I might snitch it. We have a GINORMOUS real tree this year and last night after every one was in bed asleep the cat knocked it over. CUSS CUSS CUSS. Talk about a mess for Mom to clean up
