I decided to put a music player on my page, can you TELL I have ecclectic tastes? But when you look at the majority of it, it’s almost all 80s music. Well, that IS my generation. Let me just say, they started playing 80s music on the "classic" radio station. WHAT does that say about me? OLD…
Well, I think I already COVERED that topic the other day, so we’ll just leave that one alone. It’s not all "old" music. I’ve got some Blue October on there. What I like about that song is it’s really an apology to his ex girlfriend, and it’s telling her, if hating me is what it takes to get over me, then that’s the way it has to be, though obviously HE’s not over HER. I just really like the mournfulness of the song. That was me, 10-15 years ago, you know? Maybe not so much with the drug problems, but I understand having to make yourself hate someone to end it. I really do.
Then there’s Sammy. Jerry LOVES Sammy. So I love Sammy ;). No truthfully, Sammy Hagar is one of the coolest people alive, and his music ROCKS. And he’s not just cool because of his music, but because of his good deeds, his love of his fans, his commitment to his health… he’s just all around a really GOOD person. He’s someone you can tell your kids to go ahead and model themselves after… just not the drug songs, lol…
Well, we went to the dentist today, to get the last of Bec and Syd’s teeth done. Syd MIGHT have to have a root canal, they’re trying to avoid it, but I guess the one cavity was DEEP. Shabree is lucky, she’s got great genes, but even mom has a couple of small cavities. I’m gong to have another wisdom tooth extracted on the 27th… THERE’S a great birthday present for you ;). Okay, my birthday is on the 29th, but close enough.
We decided not to go home, but wait around for Karate, since it was 3:30. Well, I gave Sammi to Sydni, and the class before Shabree’s started, and I’m like "where’s the baby?" and Sydni had put her down, and there she was, crawling on the mat. I was SO embarrassed. I packed everyone up, and we left. I took Shabree back to Karate, arranged for Jerry to take the older two to their class, and then went and picked Shabree up, having come home in the meantime. So I really didn’t go to Karate today. And truth be told, I’m glad I didn’t. I’m actually feeling pretty fed up, and it’s time for some "me time" so I think I’ll find a crop to go to, preferably an all day Saturday or Sunday one. Oh heck, we have something happening… oh the Zone’s "A day in the zone" concert is on Saturday. Damn. I really want to go to that… Five for Fighting, Smashmouth, Everclear, and a couple of other bands they say too fast for me to catch are going to be there… OH YEA!!!! I LOVE those bands. Superman is Jerry’s theme song, and 100 years is just an awesome song…ooh, I should add those to my playlist… and Walking on the Sun is an all time favorite. Sunday of course is dad’s day… Jerry wants a juicer, so I need to go to Costco and get him one. LOL, I got a new camera for Mothers’ Day… that present was AWESOME… just what I wanted, and a welcome end to the money issues. Well, that was then of course, now I’m worried again. But not so much I can’t buy Jerry a juicer. The zone thing is only 15 dollars, but today it hit 100 degrees, 104 when I was bringing Shabree home, so it’s HOT. Hopefully we can buy a pool or something… the girls have to clean the backyard up first. I NEED the exercise, everything else is just tearing up my knee. Anyway, I’m not sure I want to pay 15 dollars to go swelter in the sun for a day, incredibly awesome bands I’d love to see or not. On the other hand… I really want to go. WELL… I looked on the zone’s web site (radiozone.com), and Emerson Hart of Tonic is another group, along with Mat Kearney, who I can already tell I don’t particularly care for… and Augustana, whom so far I am liking more. Oh yea, I recognize them. I wasn’t recognizing the name, but I know the song. Okay, if we don’t even GO until 12:50, the only band we’ll miss that I might want to see is Emerson Hart of Tonic. We’ll miss the battle of the bands, which with 3 or 4 kids in tow, that’s FINE. Gotta find a babysitter for Sammi, because it probably wouldn’t be fun to take her. Last band is Smash Mouth at 3:45… so that’s only about 4, maybe 4 and a half hours…5 once you count getting in and out, but still…doable. We need to eat a big lunch and snack like heck going in, and take the LARGEST bottles of water we can find, since only one per person is allowed in. Smiles, we can take lawn chairs in… we’ve got some portable ones, so that’ll be good. All right, we can do this.
Well, so much for that. We already had plans, and the babysitter is going to Santa Cruz for the day. I’d rather do our alternative plans anyway. Though I WILL miss seeing Five for Fighting. Oh well.
The girls are back from Karate, and I am making fish sticks for dinner…fish fillets, I don’t like fish sticks. So am going to post and get to it.
