I’m having a baby shower! Please visit:

We had baby-sitting duty last night.  Jerry’s ex-wife has two kids, which are essentially my older daughter’s half brother and sister… follow me so far?  So we watched them overnight, now Jerry’s on the way to take all the kids to their house so they can return the favor.   There wasn’t enough room in the van for me to go, NOT that I’m complaining mind you ;).  So when he gets back, we’ll go cash in the coins, and go get dinner and a movie… like a REAL DATE, WHOO HOO!  Sigh… real dates are ALL too rare these days.  We’re going to see Iron Man, and perhaps either Baby Mama or Made of Honor.  I’m leaning towards Baby Mama, because I thought Made of Honor looked PRETTY darn stupid and formulaic…and like one reviewer said, Didn’t we already see this movie?  It was called My Best Friend’s Wedding.  And I thought, Yes, we have.  Though the reviews are ALL over the place for it.  Most people loved it though, so I COULD be persuaded.  Iron Man though… the reviews are all pretty much LOVING that movie.  And I’m SUCH a geek/nerd, I love sci-fi/action-adventure/comic book types of movies.  SUCH a geek.  Though I always did say, I might be a geek, but I’m a geek with a LIFE.  LOL.  We haven’t been to the theater much… though we did recently see 21, which was really, really good.  Though I read the book a few years ago as we left Las Vegas, and the book is written in an odd fashion… but the movie diverts from the book at one point and never goes back to it.  Poetic license?  I guess.  The book though had a hard time wrapping up the story, because as with ANY addiction, the people involved had a hard time stopping… they went to different casinos throughout the world to see if they could make some money, so the book gave you the feeling that they were still chasing the dream, but it wasn’t what you’d call a "closed" ending.  Well, you can’t have that in a movie, so they kind of HAD to change it to end it.

I’m wondering when Jerry will get back… they left later than they should have, but he should be here within the next five or ten minutes, I would think.  I should probably go get my shoes on.  On a humorous note, I gotta give you a visual:  Me… about what, 8, 9 months pregnant, in pants that are now what we used to call "high waters" because the belly is getting SO big that the pant legs rise up.  I look SO doggone GOOFY.  I should go change clothes too.  I’m in a t-shirt and these goofy looking pants.  It’s kind of a frumpy look.  Though I AM a mom, I usually do end up looking frumpy.  I should perhaps DO something about that.  Though I prefer to be comfortable.

Okay, I’m going to go change clothes and put on my shoes.  Maybe I’ll add an edit later on how our date went (yay)
