We’re going to Old Sacramento today for Gold Rush days. They’ve put dirt on the streets… I find it HIGHLY ironic that they have PAID to truck in tons of dirt for Gold Rush days, don’t you? Sammi has speech today, which worked up til we figured out we wanted to go to Gold Rush days, lol… I didn’t think we’d be doing ANYTHING this weekend, but it’s actually been fairly busy. I went grocery shopping yesterday, we went to breakfast on Saturday morning, plus picked up a few things for dinner after… we were really out of a lot of the foods we eat on a regular basis. Though we didn’t need much in the way of meat, so I just picked up some steak on sale. I also spent a ton of times on Facebook playing with my farms on Farmville and Farm Town. Farm Town is MUCH more fun, because you can go farm anyone’s farm who will hire you, and you can gain experience points by plowing their farms, allowing you to go up in levels pretty fast and earn the cash you need to buy things like farm expansions, more seeds, trees, etc. I did make a mistake…well, I’ve actually made a ton of them, but I understand computers, so I caught on fairly quickly, plus one guy in particular was very helpful with lots of tips for me. But the one mistake I made that I keep regretting is that I bought a ton of trees early on… and EVERY single stinking time I expand the farm, I have to move all those doggone trees. At least now they all fit on the perimeter instead of me having to double them up, taking room that could be used for crops. I love my trees, but they only fruit every other day, and they’re cheap so no one wants to harvest them, plus when they’re all bunched together like mine are, they are difficult to harvest, though I harvest them so often myself on other people’s farms, that I’ve picked up ways to make that easier too, lol. Stupid game, but I’m addicted… to the point… ugh… that I’ve gained a pound… a POUND, playing because I never get on the Wii, and we’ve been eating all kinds of good food. Dammit. I’m back up to 199… but I promised myself that 200 was the new "Don’t go beyond" point, and so it shall be. Back on the horse I go. Even if it means cutting back on my play time, lol. Truthfully… I don’t need to burn myself out on the game anyway. I always do that. I play play play until I burn out and unless it’s Colonization, I never touch it again. Now THERE’S a game they could re-do… I LOVED Colonization with a passion, and it’s something of a learning and strategy game, and it got way overlooked, because Sid Meyer made it, along with Civilization, and of course they’ve done that game a ton of times, while Colonization, easily at the very LEAST as good a game as Civ, if not better, has just fell off the face of the planet. I would love it if they broght that game back.
Tomorrow school starts "officially" I will have to start taking attendance and making sure they do PE. Bec… is hard, because she gets on the computer at least as much as I do, and hates to move, I guess, because I’ll tell her to go do something active, and she won’t do it. She simply refuses, and I often just either give up, or forget, because sometimes she’ll say she’ll do it in a bit, then she just doesn’t. That happens a lot actually, she says she’ll do something and then just doesn’t do it because she forgets. Teenagers… sigh.
I’d better get off the computer and get on to my day, we’re supposed to leave in about 45 minutes for Old Sac, and the speech teacher is here, and I’ll bet that if I don’t get off the computer, we won’t leave until 1, because nothing will get done so we can go. Jerry’s working, so he won’t care. Plus, I need to get some snacks put together so we have no reason to have to eat there. So I guess I’ll do that. My life has been so boring.
Mmm, I will say this.. Syd had a decent birthday. She ended up not really liking the present I got her, though we kept it anyway, and she just got a bunch of snacks. She’d already been given a Disney DDR dvd for her birthday, which she loved, plus I got her some Hannah Montana school supplies, which she also loved, and she’ll take any opportunity she can get to get a bunch of snacks… girl LOVES snacks, it’s amazing she’s not fat…. but then, she’s constantly moving, so there you go. I’ve got to get them to turn off the tv again though…it’s been nice and peaceful up til this weekend.
Gotta go.
