Went to the beach today, Santa Cruz.  Traffic was CRAZY.  Worse coming  home than going, OMG.  I can’t STAND Bay Area traffic, and we left at the worst possible time.  Of course.  Rush hour traffic.  It took us, I think, with 2 stops for gas and food, about 5 hours to get home.  It’s a two hour drive.

I’m sun burned and exhausted, not to mention starving.  I ate way too much today, and had a ice cream leaving Santa Cruz, which was SOOO yummy, but of course instead of buying the little one, I bought the big one…. oh well.  I’m having a SMALL snack now.

Ohmygosh, Sammi was having FITS at the surf coming up.  She kept screaming and pointing and saying "Oh no, Oh no!"  It was funny, sad, and people kept looking at her, because we were right by the stairs to leave.  We went to a different beach this time, the "surfer’s beach" instead of the beach boardwalk.  There were a TON, a TON of dogs there.  One even pulled a Marley, and ran through us while we were eating and chatting, getting sand in our food.  Sigh.  Oh well.  It was just the veggies, most of which were gone, and the pasta salad, which sadly, was not mostly gone.  But I suppose that dog kept me from eating a ton of it, so that might be a good thing.  I took a ton of food, and came back with hardly any of it, though some Russian guy hauled the cooler up the (frigging STEEP) stairs for me, bless him, and took our cheese sticks, so later, when the kids were starving, there was nothing for them to eat.  Oh well, I asked the guy at the gas station if there was a grocery store nearby, and there WAS… a Safeway just up the street, which we went to and got all the starving kids fed and made happy.  Starving adults, too, lol.

I gotta go get my food, and then to BED for me!  I’m TIRED.  I’ve been up since 6.
