Hit the jackpot today… house nearby is moving, and they gave us a TON of toys, books, videos and CDs.  I’m LOVING the stuff from the 80s, and I think they may have been bought then, the cases are heavy, lol.  Eurythmics greatest hits, ABCs greatest hits, 38 Special, U2s Zooropa, lots of Sting.  I LOVE Sting, saw him in concert at Red Rocks once, in Denver, he danced in his socks, and it rained on us, my best friend Ellen and I.  We had a BLAST.  I got the tickets the day of the concert, and we ended up moving down to be closer, it was so fun.  Funny thing, I have been rained on at two concerts, and they were arguably the most memorable concerts I have ever been to.  The other one was Matchbox 20 and Train, and when Rob Thomas sang "I wanna be the rainmaker" lightening FLASHED across the sky.  OMG, the crowd went SO wild.  Seriously, the line coincided perfectly, it was weird/cool/spooky.  SO awesome!  I like Matchbox 20 quite a bit, and it happened again later, same sort of thing.  To say it electrified the concert would be a bad pun, but entirely accurate, lol.  It was great.  No Matchbox 20 in this box of CDs, but plenty of other good stuff.

They gave us a roller coaster.  Seriously.  It’s just a little one, but you sit on this wheeled seat, and it rolls down a little plastic roller coaster.  It’s one of those expensive Little Tykes type toys.  They gave us a Thomas the Tank Engine table and 2 chairs.  We got a ton of toys, Little people, trains, and then books, and their little girl is about Syd’s age, so there were plenty of books for Syd in there, as well as me and the younger girls too.  I mean, we scored big time (this was on Saturday actually)  The rest we got today.  Amazing the things they’re just giving away.  The DVDs were all pretty much kid’s videos except for 1408, which is a REALLY scary movie, so I will probably sell that… yikes, you know?  There were a few CDs I could sell too, just because I’m not into Shania Twain or Punk music.  LOL… interesting mix of music in that box!  I found that with the books, too.

Took Syd and Shabree to the intake appointment today for the psychologist… took us TWO HOURS.  Which was fine, just long.  We had sushi at the Nugget market after (well, we came home, got Sammi and Alex, then went).  Oddly, I found myself light headed in there, the psychologist’s office.  I really liked her, but I don’t know why I was lightheaded.  Like I was breahting wrong.  I had taken my soda, and it was nice to be able to divert  my attention to my soda.  But we talked for quite awhile about Shabree and Syd and their "issues"  I hate to call them that, but whatever… After we talked for probably more than an hour, she took Shabree and "talked" (they played a game), then Syd, and they actually talked.  Syd told me they talked about Twilight and being lousy in math.  I hope Syd is able to do better in school this year.  I know lousy in math…wasn’t my best subject either.

Sammi had speech this morning.  She’s getting much more intelligable, which is fantastic.  And she’s learning her colors, shapes, numbers, even some ABCs.  When school starts, I plan to give her ABCs to color, or when we do art, she can decorate them with glue sticks and contstruction paper or what-not.  She might have a really good head start on school when she starts kindergarten in 2011.  I’ll have to start her on sight words next year too.  Part of the books were coloring books that I thought she could use too.  I put them away.  We have a lot of colorin/activity books in this house as it is, plus what I can print from online.  I plan to be pretty relaxed with her… Shabree really didn’t like worksheets when she was Sammi’s age, they freaked her out and she always told me she couldn’t do them, though when she got into kindergarten, she made leaps and bounds progress with it, I simply hadn’t pushed her at all.  Maybe I should have.  She knew her colors and shapes well enough from the games we played, but her writing was… poor.  It’s SO much better now.

Okay  I have TOTALLY run out of things to say.  Today was a MUCH better day than yesterday.  I still love my husband, however, he is royally pissing me off with how he talks to me.

I’m kinda hungry, I haven’t exercised at ALL today… maybe I should skip the food, I don’t know.  Maybe something really low cal is called for.  Sammi and Alex are bugging me big time… may be time for bed for them (it IS 8:35)  OH yea… of course that means a nursing session for Alex.

Hey, I just realized there is a B-52s CD… Love Shack anyone?  Whoo!

RYN: Thanks. Nah, I’m not really a social person at all anymore. Most of my ‘social’ life is done on the computer and it’s been that way for several years.
