You don’t put socks on fajitas!!

Yesterday I burnt my tongue on pizza. Today I re-burnt my tongue on very delicious lentil and beef soup. So yummy (not too fond of the beef chunks, but I like the flavour) yet so evilly hot. I even waited for it to cool down by taking my time dunking my half of the massive roll we got from the store, soaking up the yummy liquid.

We watched Big Fish today. Was a lovely way to pass the afternoon.

The onion in the soup today was INSANELY strong. After it was chopped, cooked, and everything that came in contact with it had been washed. AND the windows had been open for almost an hour to get some air moving and to blow the stuff out of the kitchen, I was still in occular pain from it. Stupid giant onion. I don’t like onions. I’m rather an onion-wimp.

Jake only has to work 2 days this week! He has Wed/Thur/Fri off. Woo! Shall be goodness. πŸ™‚

Mum sent me a forward this morning that is kinda fun. It was an excel file with a whole bunch of band photos and you have to guess who they are. And it tells you when you are correct, which I find to be awesome. If only the pictures weren’t TINY, because some of them are really crappy quality and you can’t tell much of anything, let alone know who they are. Unless maybe they are your ultimate favourite people. Together Jake and I got 60/270, but he claims he hasn’t looked at it properly so might be more.

There is a Craig Ferguson comedy special on right now. I want to watch it, but I know he swears a lot in his stand up (he swears a fair bit on his late night talk show) so I want to wait until we can watch the DVD. I dislike bleeps. If we were at home it would be shown, it’s after 10, swearing should be allowed!

title: Getting dressed after my shower this afternoon, I started singing "putting socks on my fa-heet" and of course Jake is silly. πŸ™‚

I’m an onion wimp too. Although I have to admit, “occular pain” made me lol >.>

I hate onions too – they’re just evil! RYN: You should, it was totally yummy! Maybe use cream cheese or marscapone instead of ricotta? Lee Mee xXx

I guess you made the soup and not Barb. You can remove the smell of onions from your hands using a metal ‘soap bar’. Or failing that, by rubbing your hands on the metal tap to remove the smell. Some dry mustard powder (can you get that in US?) in a dish of water is fabulous for absorbing smells. Leave in the room to clear the air, soak the dish in it…. A good couple of tablespoons to a cup

of water should do it. Fill a container to the top if you want to remove smells from it – works better. This is great for all kinds of smells, including paint. And the mustard smell washes away easily in hot soapy water when you do dishes.

Bleeps drive me batty! I’d generally rather not watch it at all if it has to have the bleeps.~jo

I love onions but chopping them up gives me such a headache…. WIMP! xxx

Big Fish is one of my favorites! I love the dreamy, fairy-tale-like qualityand the accent of the son’s wife!

If you put them in the fridge before you cut them its supposed to help, also closing off your nose somehow…

this entry mentions two things i intensly dislike- onions being too onioney, and buring tastebuds. Burnt mouths suck big time. Hope the onion vapours (and subsequent pain) have subsided, and that your tongue doesn’t feel too furry-burnt πŸ™‚
