Why would I want to buy a synthetic lion?

I am sick of sugar. I am sick of sugary things. I am sick of how much junk food is in this apartment at the moment. I know it is almost entirely my doing, but still. At least now, in terms of baked goods, we are down to the gross things and the weird flat meringues that I haven’t tried since they were fresh out of the oven. Should probably give them another shot, everything else got eaten at least twice.

Today was such an odd day. Perfectly nice weather all day, and then it got to about 5pm and it became unbelievably hot and humid and STICKY in this apartment. And then I had to cook dinner. Lousy stove being so hot. Silly food being so very tasty. Mmm.

I’m sending Jake to work tomorrow with a letter asking how much time off he can have for our christmas vacation. Hopefully, like last time, 6 weeks is totally fine. That would be awesome, 6 weeks was a great amount of time last time we went back home, just long enough to not feel like we are leaving as soon as we got there. Fingers crossed.
