Wheels on the bus go crunch munch munch

I can’t type for shit today (had to do my password 3 times – for each site! – tonight, my fingers just won’t work!) so rather than catch up on the few days it has been since I wrote, I think I’ll be lazy and share pictures instead.

On the first plane, from JFK to LAX. The only time we had seats in front of us!

Playing with Jenn’s little girl, Elouise. Elouise is 8 months older, but they are pretty close in size (and Ashley is more advanced when it comes to standing/walking).

Giving Jenn a hug.

Crawling around with an uninflated football. It is her new favourite toy (maybe because we only brought a few toys, and we haven’t found my old toys yet).

Hanging out with Ellen.

First time in ages we’ve been together. Good time.

Showing off her standing skills.

Ash is very cautious around the men-folk. She will smile and wave at them, but hugs (or sitting on their lap, or sitting next to them without me) are kind of out of the question. Whereas Mum gets big snuggle hugs. I don’t know what it is. She did give Dad a hug the other day, but so far it was a one time thing.

We all have colds. Jake had one before we left, which meant on the day we left I was all sneezy and snotty. That seemed to go away but now I am stuffed up, coughing up my lungs, lungs on fire from coughing, headache from coughing…. ugh. Ashley is snotty but that seems to be it. She’s quite happy. She is eating and sleeping more but that’s ok. Yesterday we napped for 4.5 hours over 2 naps, which is WELL above average. So that was nice. Because she is eating so often, she has to sleep with me, so Jake is sleeping in Matty’s bed while Matty is working in Sydney for the week. It is nice having the space, but I do miss my husband.

Yesterday Ashley handed me her pacifier. The first time she hands me anything, and it is her beloved paci! So I thought that was just awesome. Today she handed me lots of things. New skill!

She will be walking any day now, I reckon. If I hold her hands, she just about runs across the room.

Must stop typing and get ready  for bed before the baby wakes up and whinges. She did that last night, one quick whinge, I went into the bedroom and she was just sitting up on the bed waiting for me. If I had put her in the crib she’d be on her back, wailing. But yes, bad part about Jake in a different room is that I am pretty much a single parent at night.

I  hope you are all doing wonderfully well. I haven’t had any time to read ANY entries since we got here last week, so I feel very out of touch with all you lovely internet friends.

Awww I love when babies hand things over! Violet’s fave thing to do is shove her pacifier or my glasses into my mouth (or up my nose). Sigh. Looks like she adjusted pretty well to the new digs! Hope you’re having a great time!

So sorry you are sick. Ashley looks more grown up and like she is having fun. I think you are right and she will be walking when she returns. We really miss you all so much. Love to all of you.

Colds are no fun. But cute pictures are cute 😀 I can’t really remember what I’ve done the last two days right now, but no doubt I can tell you about it at lunch anyways 🙂 I also have a tiger to return!
