Welcome home, Monkeybutt

My neck is cold. Crazy coldness. Our car is buried under snow, does not appear that Russ moved it to his farm while we are gone. Don’t know how I’m going to dig it out… we have nothing to do so. Not even a little window scraper.

We had a flight from Melbourne at 8am. So we were all up at 5, left shortly after and then spent ages hanging out at the gate at the airport. Lots of fun. I have another magnet for the fridge. Have to dig them all out. The suitcases are laying on the floor in the lounge, because I can’t be bothered with them. The only reason they are open is because I wanted to give Lisa her calendar before she left.

The flight was only 90 minutes (actually, I think it was less) so that as quick and easy. We were sitting right in front of the 2 monks we had spotted at the gate, which amused me. Once in Sydney we had to walk and walk and then get on a bus and then walk and walk… and then sit for an hour or so.

The flight from Sydney (midday) was absolutely packed, and Jake and I were both in the middle seats. So that was extra fun. Neither of us got up for the 12 hours we were on that flight. I watched a bunch of movies (the rocker, little miss sunshine, wanted, wall-e) and napped. And got hungry, as the menu said the chicken meal was "chicken with spinach and basil" but it mentioned nothing of the fact it was in a cream sauce! Very gross.

Landed in LA about 6am (local time, 1am aus time) and had assistance from a very nice lady who we just followed around. I would’ve been fine for most of it, except for the part about finding how to get back to the gate after dropping our bags off. There were no signs for that, so I was grateful for the assistance. Plane left at 9am, and they only gave us one meal (and no snacks) for 5 hours! Is it any wonder I am so hungry right now? We have snacks, but nothing savoury which is what I want. The store was shut when we got here because it is Sunday.

The flight from LA to new york was a lot less packed, so we had the row of 4 seats to ourself. So Jake got an aisle seat and I got to lay down and rest. Laying naps are so much better than sitting naps.

We got some gifts from the family people here when Lisa picked us up. Money for a Wii (because they were all sold out), some rather fluffy socks and a smores kit thing (that is identical to one that we left behind when we moved out)

This place feels like a hotel. There is no carpet, there is no food, there is no pets, there is no lovely family people (other than Jake, but he’s everywhere.) Very lacking in goodness. I’m hoping that is just because everything is still packed up and I haven’t had a chance to do anything yet (even take off my sweater which stinks of vinegar… the salad dressing packet on the syd-la flight splurted all over me. Rather gross and smelly. That was the same meal as the creamy chicken)

I don’t think we are getting Trogdor back until February. Unless we drive up to New London to get him.

The good thing is, there is snow outside. And there were icicles on the ground (that I assume had fallen from the roof) so that was cool. Giant icy stick!

Better at least make the bed before it is bedtime. Title is what Jake just said to me. I want family hugs.

I hear good things about wall-E. It good? Hehe, monks. So then is it welcome home Monkbutt? (But Sez isn’t a monk. Or a nun. Obviously due to the presence of Jake. XD) Euuugh airline food. 8x Wow. Now that I read this, I think I _did_ have that dream around the same time you landed in LA. Very very weird sort of snc. *weird snc hugs* Reading this makes me remember my own travelling
