Trying to kick her way out?
I swear this baby grew twice her size overnight. Or maybe not quite that much, but ugh, she’s taking up all my space! Space I want for FOOD. I just ate dinner and I still feel peckish but I’m so fullllllllll.
This morning I got to drink a rather unpleasant, very sweet orange drink. Oh man, that stuff made me hyper. I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head because they were vibrating. I wanted to run up and down the waiting room or sit on some sort of weird exercise chair where I can work all my limbs at once but at different paces. By the time the hour wait was up, I was getting sleepy. The time went by quickly, probably because I had a Jake next to me. All he did was read magazines (and fill in a crossword in one of them) but it was still nice, much better than being alone and waiting. Hopefully the results are all good. I don’t want to drink that stuff again.
After the 7 vials of blood were stolen from me (and the poorly attached cotton-ball-and-masking-tape-that-fell-off-and-made-me-bleed-through-my-shirt was applied) we went to the grocery store, which I think everyone thought of doing. It was CROWDED. They finally had the brand of turkey that I wanted (organic, but store-brand so pretty decent price. Also, it’s the only one that isn’t pre-brined or full of gunk that makes us brining the turkey with FLAVOUR kind of pointless) which made me happy, and we bought everything else that isn’t produce. I was wondering how we were going to have space in the freezer for the turkey, but it was only full because we still had big ziplock bags full of ice from the hurricane-time in there (I did that to make less space, therefore more protection for the frozen things… which would have been great if the power hadn’t been off for 3 days) so there was pretty much exactly the amount of space we needed for the turkey and bag of ice.
Once we were home, we were too lazy to make our own lunches, so we went downstairs and had toasted sandwiches of yummy. Jake had pastrami and cheddar on rye, I had a turkey reuben, so our sandwiches looked rather similar but so not. I actually enjoyed my reuben, which was the first one since I got pregnant that I enjoyed. Either Baby-A was being lovely and letting me have something I love so much, or it was just really damn good because it was made by Laurie, and therefore the next best thing to a Russ-ben (Laurie being Russ’ daughter) which is of course the best of the turkey reubens.
This afternoon was just spent snuggled on the couch watching DVRd stuff, and I think that may be how this evening will be spent too.
Sounds like a great day! HOw much longer you have on incubating your little one?
