Transcribing my ramble
I have had intense snacktion cravings all day. (Snacktion = not necessarily wanting to snack, but to do the action of snacking) We went to the mall and even though we ate before we left, and we both knew there was no to be no buying of delicious treats… it was really difficult to not. The mall used to be a super-rare treat, back when we didn’t have a car, and back then we formed the ‘habit’ of treating ourselves to something tasty while there. And now… we were good, but it left us wanting to snack for the rest of the day!!
Oh… I haven’t written in a few days. Have taken pictures, like I should be. Nothing exciting though. Delicious beverage was friday’s picture. And yesterday’s picture was our delicious dinner. I ADORE curry with pineapple. I think I adore pineapple in just about anything. It is an awesomely delicious fruit.
I just realised my entry title should be my diary title. But I like ludo pyan morkow. Because, after all, I AM a crazy drunk carrot. Moje i da sym pyan morkow no pone prawya lunnata stypka. I am really rather sad that that phrase is all I remember of the semi-‘lessons’ in Bulgarian I had years ago. Although they weren’t really lessons, they were just my friend Toni who lives in Bulgaria… I asked her to teach me some things and she taught me a bunch of weird things. I’m sure I copied and saved everything she tried to teach me, but that’s the only one that stuck. Possibly because that’s the onyl phrase she also taught me how to pronounce. Which means there is an audio file of me saying that somewhere. Tis a fun thing to say. I may be a drunk carrot, but at least I can moonwalk.
What I’m drinking right now… although this image is from last week. We have no more candy canes now YAY.
There is one thing about this apartment that I really hate. The angles are not perpendicular. The entire place is slanted, and that I can cope with. That really doesn’t bother me much (except for the calendar that is hanging… crookedly according to the windows on either side of it, but it is pointing straight down!) but what really bugs me… we have posters up in this room. I had to choose if I wanted them to line up with the ceiling or the other walls/windows/doorframes. It’s only slight, and most people probably wouldn’t be able to notice, but it is really driving me crazy. Crazier, perhaps. I’m hoping it is only fresh in my mind because today I put up the 3 posters that Jenn gave me for Christmas. They are pretty awesome, I’ll have to document their location at some point.
Today we went… many many places. Before midday we drove over to the bank, and then came home and walked to the post office. It was such a PERFECT temperature today. I think it got to about 40F today? That’s 5C. So nice. I had a few layers on, didn’t need gloves, the wind didn’t hurt my ears… it was just so nice. Since we’ve been home, I’ve been only wearing a singlet top on my top half. Nice, relaxing, comfy… perfect weather. This is what it should be like all the time. Singlet weather where I can have a hot chocolate and not die from overheat. I think I am becoming more and more like my mother… I’ve had a hot chocolate (or milo… but I’m running low on that so mostly cocoa mix stuff) every day for this entire year. At least. Addictively delicious.
I think I’m in a rambly mood tonight. Which is awesome. Makes my title appropriate, which it wasn’t going to be at first. YAY! APPROPRIATENESS!
So… after delicious oatmeal lunch, Jake and I went to Walmart today. It was a giant big super fun excursion of yay! Except not. But it was a place we rarely go. For good reason. Jake accurately described the smell inside that place just by using an Austin Powers quote that I can never remember 100% accurately… "in an apartment building where everyone is cooking something… that, plus crap" although he only had to say "that, plus…" and I burst out laughing. It was SO GROSS. We looked for a CD for Jake, and failed. (We also went to Target to find the bastard cd and failed there too!) I had heard of an awesome selection of tshirts and posters and such… all MJ-related. We found that, and got an awesome poster (finally a good one that doesn’t have a fucking death date yay) but the tshirt I wanted was not there. I’m rather sad about that, it was pretty awesome. But we got something, and escaped the poop-smelling building.
Went to the mall, Jake FINALLY got his cd… I’m glad the FYE at the mall didn’t have a tiny crappy almost non-existant country section like the other places we went. We went to Barnes and Noble (heh, it’s half us) and I got a pretty awesome book that I’ve been eyeing for a while. It was 50% off, so I grabbed it. It’s rather cool, I’m enjoying it so far. Even if it does smell like weird eucalyptus.
On the way home we went to the grocery store. Where multiple people talked to me in a friendly manner. Was rather odd, that is really rare for me. People just don’t talk to me… I guess I was just exuding a super friendly talk-to-me air. One woman tried to bond over the lack of bay leaves (seriously, wtf? There were 2 big rows where they were labelled to be, and yet NONE. And so I checked the store right here… ALSO NONE! I need bay leaves!), a guy in the produce section needed help finding leeks, and then some other dude at the register kept chatting to me. Jake found it very cute that I was conversing with other people. I was amused by it too. I was also amused that when I needed to dash from one end of the store to the other, with the cart, while Jake was at the register getting all the stuff rung up, people kept being nice and getting out of my way with a smile. Was good. Got to replace the weirdly exploded pack of yogurts with non-weird, non-exploded yogurts!
I’m looking approachable today, yes?
The poster thing would drive me crazy, too!
