Time-washing mayhem

I’m sure I’ve mentioned how ridiculously clingy Ashley has become lately. Can’t leave the room, can’t put her down, can’t even lay her on the change table without her bursting into tears. I put her on the kitchen floor with her toys while I do the dishes and she just looks at me with this terrible sad face and cries. BUT! She also tries her hardest to get over to where I am. Which means in the last few days, her mobility and speed has improved drastically. She still isn’t crawling, but she can do a half-scoot, half-crawl thing. She can also pick herself up if she falls on her belly. She just does this magical leg thing and BAM! Upright! It is impressive, especially because I tried it today and I can’t move like that. Way to go baby, making me feel unflexible.

Today she moved from in front of the couch, into the bedroom, round the corner and started playing with the stuff in the bottom of my closet. Jake and I were watching her and praising her and it was just so awesome. She is awesome.

Didn’t get much done in the way of thanksgiving prep today. I hard boiled some eggs but those will be eaten before the day, I’m sure, they are just too delicious. So we are counting those as a practice round. (I have to make devilled eggs for Jake. Devilled eggs are so stupid, ruining a perfectly awesome egg, but apparently I make awesome ones even though I refuse to test them as I make them.) I also cut up the apples for the crumble. I was going to make the sweet potato pie but Ash had done everything and was sick of it. I had tried sitting on the floor with her, but she wanted to sit on my lap, play with the apples and the peeler. Then we tried sitting in the high chair but she just threw her toys everywhere and cried. When we did the eggs she was strapped to me via the babyhawk, which she loved, but I couldn’t be bothered working out how to tie her to my back. We haven’t tried that yet. Will need to, I have things I need to do tomorrow! And even more on Saturday and Sunday!

We had chinese food for dinner, it was so delicious. I love our chinese place. Wish they delivered, but it gave me a few minutes alone so that was nice. Plus, it is the perfect distance away – we call the order in, I grab my keys and leave and by the time I am there the food is just coming out of the kitchen! Awesome! We don’t often get take out, but it is nice to have 2 nights of not having to think about what dinner is while I’m busy with everything else. It sucks, we have so many ingredients in the kitchen but they are all earmarked for dishes already so it is like having an empty kitchen. Still have to come up with something for Saturday night’s dinner… ugh. Pity our dinner-out budget has been wiped clean the past few days (Ruby Tuesday and tonight’s stuff) because that makes it so much harder. Last night I made cornflake-crusted chicken tenders, but I didn’t put anywhere near enough seasoning on them so they just tasted like chicken and cornflakes. That’s what happens when a meal is an improv, I much prefer recipes.

I was about to bitch about having lost my USB-to-wall charger, but it just occured to me that my phone’s charger cord has one of those. Score!

Title: I meant time WASHING, but I typed washing. I mean… I meant wasting. Man, my fingers suck.

You made me want chinese food for dinner! Also time-washing sounds useful. Like you could just throw last week’s time in the wash and use it again like new… Or something… NoNoMo update: I’m boring! And I ate chocolate biscuits for lunch :/

I make a quick deviled egg.by mixing the yolks with tomato sauce, mayonnaise, salt & pepper and sometimes a little curry powder. Really quick easy and delicious! Named special eggs for no idea why!!
