There is never enough cheese.
It’s snack time. Thin sliced apple covered in salt and pepper (a little too much pepper I think, it is making the corner of my mouth tingle) and a few (not enough!) slices of pepperjack cheese. Something is missing from this, but I can’t work out what. Maybe a hot chocolate. Or some roast chicken breast. Too bad I’m lacking the main ingredient for both at the moment. Must send Jake to get milk when he comes home.
There’s a turkey in the bottom of our fridge, just sitting there being "I’m a bag of turkey!", taking up space. At least it is not in the brining bucket yet, that thing takes up much more room.
Had an appointment with my midwife this morning. I’m glad I ate rather well yesterday, she asked me what I had consumed in the last 24 hours and other than the complete lack of vegetables (oops) it was all good stuff. Thankfully my glucose tests came back normal, although I knew they would it is nice to get proper confirmation of that.
Before the appointment, I met Lisa downstairs for breakfast. Before getting there, I couldn’t decide between pancakes and french toast. I’m really glad I went with the french toast, because Baby wouldn’t let me enjoy maple syrup on the french toast. Too sweet, but at the same time, it was completely bland and flavourless – the bread and the syrup. So I put ketchup on the rest, like I grew up doing so (in our house we had french toast for dinner. Mmm…) and it was delicious and flavourful and perfectly yummy. Wouldn’t have been able to do that with pancakes. Ketchup on pancakes? Ew.
I made the mistake of telling Lisa that I’m rarely hot, my temperature seems normal for the most part. So of course all the travel and at the appointment, I was so hot I was almost sweaty. Ugh. When I got home I had to go for a walk in the brisk air to the post office without my cardigan so I could cool off a bit.
At the post office, I had so many packages (everything I had ordered the other day online… as well as the gift from my OD-KK) as well as a pile of mail that I couldn’t work out how to carry it all. Thankfully the lady at the post office got me a bag for the small things, then I just had 2 bulky boxes to deal with, and they weren’t heavy so that was nice.
I’m getting close to the end of this pregnancy. My next appointment is in 2 weeks. Worst part about that, I couldn’t get the earliest appointment time on that day. That’s going to get even worse when it is every week. Every single week next month we have an appointment somewhere. I miss the days of not having places to go to all the time. I think we might even have to go to the mall this weekend, finish up our christmas shopping so I can mail the things that need to be mailed off. Ugh, that reminds me, I still haven’t written christmas cards. I should do that. Not today though, today is super-lazy day because I am EXHAUSTED. I’m contemplating not even bothering with washing the dishes, that’s how lazy I am.
That was a tangenty paragraph. And a random, disjointed entry too. Score.
I like sliced apples and cheese. Never thought of putting salt and pepper on them though! French toast. Nom 🙂

Thanks! I took some fireworks photos this year that turned out completely different. I’ll get to posting those at some point. 🙂 And… now I want hot chocolate.

Wow, it came so early! I was scared it wouldn’t come in time–you got a pre-christmas gift, i guess! 🙂 Glad you like it, hope you get some use out of it.

RYN: Well in Colorado a nice house is about 200,000 and in Iowa that same house would be about 100,000. But that same house in CT would be 500,000-750,000
