The olympics are apparently patriotic

Oh man, I had SUCH fun tonight. We had a ‘game night’ with a bunch of people Jake works with. We got picked up at about 6 by Mel and Kerry,and they took us over to Michele’s place. So there was 6 of us (including Michele’s husband Matt) as well as a little puppy named Jake, and two adorable cats.

We had pizza for dinner. Pepperoni and hawaiian. None of them had ever had hawaiian pizza, we only got it because I was the only person who responded to "what kind of pizza do you like" …thankfully they all enjoyed it too. Mmm… can’t go wrong with pineapple on your pizza.

We played a card game called "Apples to Apples" that was very simple and loads of amusement. I won the first round and Jake won the second round, so brainmates ruled at that. (my title is from one of the odd ‘rulings’ during the game)

There was also just a lot of fun talk, getting to know everyone (they all knew each other pretty well already because other than Matt they all work in the same place but I was ‘new’ to the group) and amusing chatter. It was just really NICE.

Last night I made another caramel slice, because the one I made last weekend came out so perfectly yummy and I remembered Jake telling me that he told the people he worked with about it and they loved the sound of it. It wasn’t as chewy as the other batch, but still amazingly tasty. Everyone LOVED it, which of course made me feel good.

This afternoon we had to go back to the doctors to find out the results of the blood they took 2 weeks ago. Turns out, they couldn’t find anything wrong. So, in 3 months he has to go back just to keep tabs on it or something like that.

And now, I have to go to bed. My gut hurts from the pizza still.
