The addition of mayonaise

Ugh… I feel sick and I STINK right now. I was doing the dishes and noticed the back room looked rather… dark. I went out to have a look and it was a bit smoky. Opened the weird closet doors that the furnace thing hides behind back there, and there was some orange. Very small, and I was unsure if that’s what it looks like when it is on. Still, came inside, got quickly dressed (and grabbed my IDs/passports just in case something drastic happened) and by the time that was done the whole back room was dark with smoke.

The really good thing is, Barb is sick (that’s not good) so Russ is working instead. And it was after 3pm so he wasn’t busy making food for customers, so he came right up and fixed it up. The pipe burst on the furnace I think is what he said. So yeah… not good. Good thing I was making cookies and therefore had dishes to do. The cookies are in the freezer right now, I wasn’t planning on cooking them anyway. They are so when I DO want cookies, I can just grab a few and cook them. Yum. I make good cookies.

Think I might have to go buy some shampoo/conditioner so I can wash this stench out of my hair and replace it with something good. I’m not sure if baking soda/vinegar would remove it completely. I know shampoo wouldn’t really, but it would feel nice and mask the scent at least. And I really truly desperately want to go wash all the walls and the ceilings back there, all that end of the room is coated in a smily blackness. Wipes off easy at least. But that’s the source of the stench! Yargh, I have to live in gross! Doesn’t help that the smoke got down to knee level so now I just feel disgusting and coated in gross oil-smoke.

Not sure when they will be coming to fix the pipe. Would be a good thing to know, not that it matters too much, seeing as when we will be out tomorrow Russ will be working downstairs.

In other crapulent news, it has been 62 days since my application (green card crap) was filed… so I SHOULD have an answer by now. And after 60 days I’m also allowed to call to find out the status of all that. But when I call… I get the lovely message of "this application cannot be found at this time" so… yeah. No idea what THAT means. I can’t find an option to talk to an actual person either, it’s all automated crap. I just want an answer!! For so many reasons. One of them being I’m not getting another pet until I know I’m staying, and it’s kinda lonely up here during the day. Some hermit crabs or something would really fix that. Plus, they are amusing. So that would be even greater.

So… yeah. I feel I deserve something highly delicious for dinner tonight. Something so tasty that other things don’t matter so much because my mouth and belly are so happy. Too bad Lisa isn’t coming down till next week, we’re gonna have mexican and be all mmm…. deliciousness. Plus, more baking will happen then, and it will be really super delicious baking of yay! So… yes. Hopefully the store doesn’t suck as hard as it did last time I went there looking for delicious premade deliciousness. The entire case where they keep wraps/soups/sushi etc was EMPTY. 100% empty! So I hope it was being cleaned… and it has tasty today. Mmm. That would rock.

Hope your days are all going marvellously!

Yay I just got 2 tickets to see This Is It on my birthday! At our local cinema! Score.

UGH! I can -NEVER- figure out how to talk to an actual person. I usually just end up pressing random numbers until it gives me a press 0 option to talk to an operator. The only other thing I can think of is to call your consulate and ask them for help.

ryn: lol your welcome That stinks about the pipe. Also stinks about the green card stuff. Maybe theres a website or something to help or like the note above me says consulate. Hope you have tasty food for dinner.

it’s good that it was only a bit of smoke and that you were home at the time! scary! if you ever want to make something delicious and healthy, you should make fries out of butternut squash 🙂 they are sooooo good.

How scary would that be! I’m glad all it was was smoke and not a fire. Even though smoke does stink.

ryn: True. I don’t like when websites do stuff like that. Annoying. cranberry mayo cranberry mayo cranberry mayo SUCH A THING EXISTS WHAT? How is it you always seem to have stuff I never heard of or thought existed?

October 2, 2009

lol 🙂 It doesn’t seem to fit but I will have to try it. and WOO birthday tickits! 😀

And because it just came to my mind and I don’t feel like re doing my note… cranberry mayo Seems like something someone would say one “contradiction eating another” to. Like Starburst commercials with the Scot Korean but not.

Wow, that was a close call. Good thing you looked into it quickly. I think the vinegar should get the smell out actually. Vinegar is what is suggested to use if a pet has an accident because it neutralizes the smell so they won’t smell it again and pee in the same spot again. It does work quite well, it gets rid of the poop stink immediately if an animal poops inside. Worth a shot.~jo

buy some essential oil and put a couple of drops in your ACV rinse you do, it wil make for the nice smelling 🙂 OR you could rinse you hair with actual apple juice, people use that as a DIY conditioner treatment, and you could smell like FRUIT!!

🙁 Ahww. Sounded like a poo day. At least all will be fixed soon. Oh, and I would DEMAND to speak to a person. Usually they give you an option like “For all other options, please stay on the line.” Or, if you don’t choose an option, you could get ahold of someone since you didn’t prechoose something. They’ll direct your call, at least. Good luck! *

You are so lucky you noticed the smoke and got it fixed straight away. I think the vinegar might work to get the smell out as a previous note says. And remember that Elaine used tomato sauce in a Seinfeld episode to remove some stink from her hair (not that it worked but the acidity is the key). I don’t envy you cleaning the black off everything. Mustard powder in a bowl of water removes smells.
