That means I sold bread to a monkey

I have watermelon as a snack today. The way I cut the last few bits off the rind remind me so strongly of the way Mum and Nanna cut ham whenever we stay at Nanna’s. As if I hadn’t been wanting ham-and-salad sandwiches enough, now this watermelon is being ham-esque! Mean trickster fruit.

Yesterday morning, Lisa (Jake’s mum) and Michelle (Lisa’s best friend) came for breakfast downstairs. So I joined them. Eats! I think we sat down at 9:30, and didn’t leave until 12. They had breakfast, we all chatted, I had a turkey reuben at about 11, Jake came and had his lunch/break at about 11:30… it was just a pile of loveliness. I love those ladies so much and I don’t get to see them nearly enough.

After sitting in the hard, uncomfortable booth for so long, my back and legs ached so bad it gave me a headache. So I napped the afternoon away. Jake came home and I was sleeping on the couch using Mowgli as a pillow (pictured above).

This afternoon, Lexi was being a whingy little thing, wanting lots of love. So I picked her up and she snuggled into my shoulder. I sat on the couch like that and we just rested all snuggly for about 15 minutes. It was the cutest, most lovely thing. I absolutely adore having the cats here, and they seem to accept us more and more every day. Grace, for example, would only allow one form of contact between us – love-headbutts – for so long. Then she would maybe sit on my lap once a week. Now, she is constantly trying to sit on me (and eat my food… she loves yogurt and will clean the lid and the container for me when I’m done. So cute!) and she even lets me give her big squeezy cuddles. I’m not sure if she likes it, but she tolerates it very well, and that’s progress!

Did you know I am terrible at keeping my own secrets? I just hate it so much. I am so pregnant. It rocks!
